Hello, I was curious to know if anyone here grew up in a church. I was born into a Christian home and my parents took me to church every Sunday when I was a child. I don't remember what church because I was so young and didn't even know how to read a bible. All I can remember was that every Sunday my parents took me and my sister to this big sanctuary because Sunday was designated as Jesus Day. Anyone else have Christian parents who took them to church at a really young age?

I was raised in the church too. I've gone to this same church for 21 years! Its amazing how much a place can change in 21years as far as the people who are there anyways. People have come and gone. The place itself has changed. I'm going to be going away to school soon and will be going some where else that'll be a big change.

Not me. In fact, I've only been saved a little over 10 years. I came from a family full of pagans, although my mom was the first to get saved back when we were living in Columbus, Ohio years ago. My stepdad seemingly didn't live the live the life a redeemed, and my brother isn't saved. Now, however, because my family has expanded just a little, my little sister has been growing up in church (just about) because my mother takes her when she goes. My brother still doesn't go, but I am praying and hoping that he will soon. Since my growth, however, since then I"ve come to know the Lord in some incredible ways and even have two years of some very solid Bible teaching (from Bible college) to help catalyse that. I started off in the United Methodist church and even went to different denominations and doctrines before finally settling in what my beliefs are, based on my understanding of Scripture is. I am very much hoping to see my little sister grow in her knowledge of God so that when she gets older (or even day by day as she learns about God even more) that God will bring her into His kingdom, under the protective and redemptive blood of Jesus. Once I get married (someday hopefully) then I look forward to providing a solid Christian family home for my child (or children) so that we can be the first Christian family in my entire family tree (based on what I know about it). However, I do get rather envious of those who grew in church though. I know it would have changed tons of things for me because most of the time it just seems like I"m trying to speed through ten years of what most home-grown Christians have been getting most of their lives. Even so, it's still an honor to be part of the church and be called by God's voice to receive forgiveness from my sins and eternal life in Christ. Glad to be part of the family, brethren and sistren. It will be 11 years for me this August.

Grew up in a church, but when I was about 8 God called my parents to a different church and we found "the one" and started going to that when I was 10 or so (after searching and going to different churches for a while). I've been there for several years!

I grew up in church. My first church was in Romania, as at the time my father was a diplomat there. I was baptised in an Orthodox church. But since returning to England, i have started to regularly attend my local Methodist church and i am finding it very fulfilling. It is a very different style of worship.

I'm humbled by the fact most of you know the denominations of your church. I know nothing about my first church. I wasn't interested in church when I was growing up but my parents forced me to go along. Obviously times have changed.

Yep, I grew up in the church. My parents were quite active (my mum at least) with Sunday School. We moved towns a few times so consequently churches as well, but it's been good. I didn't really like one church I was at and we moved and I really enjoyed the new church. Currently I am a member at the church my parents attend in Lobethal, but it's been a while since I've been. I go to my boyfriend's church and another one that does a Sunday night youth-service, which I play in the band in. I really enjoy being out on my own and growing without my parents there immediately, but always there to fall back on if need be.

Yeah i grew up in church, every sunday morning and evening, and every wendsday. from birth untill i was about ughhh 10/11/12/13... somewhere around those ages. my parents got a divorce, so we stopped going. dad kept going, mom didnt, mom caused divorced because of unfaithfullness. im just trying to set the "plot", so anyways i rebeled after that, and i dont remember the exact churchin situation, i just remember the people, and some particular events. anyways, the Lord finally called me back into his arms at the age of 19/20, and ive been saved for like 2 years now. i feel like Paul, cuz i was so jacked up, but by the grace of God i am in Christ ! :) so i was born churchin, and by Gods grace, i plan to go out of this life churchin!!

My grandparents raised but no they wasn't active in church it was my great aunt and my great grandma that took me to church. In fact, I was born on a Sunday. :) I am now back in church whereas, i fell out of church as i got older. Although, I grew up in church til i moved out my grandfathers house, I lived in sin, i moved back home a year and half later, 6months later I started going back to church but I went to a different on than I grew up in. But they are both southern baptist. just in different towns.

I was born into the church and grew up in the church also. thank God i'm in the church and saved. i was in the church so thought i was no sinner. cause i never did what i knew was sin. Through my pastor, God opened my eyes to know that, not submitting to the love of Christ is sin. i believe He saved me when i admitted that i was a sinner and needed Him to save me.

I guess its a special privilege to be have born into a loving Christian home and raised up in a church. Unfortunately, this is a privilege that I took for granted when I was growing up. It is very encouraging to see how all of you are grateful to your mom and dads. Thanks.

I'm a "PK" - pastor's kid. So yes, I "grew up" in a church. I'm 90% positive and glad about that. It was a little hard being a PK when I was a teen, but I'm so very, very glad that Christ and His church have been a part of my life since day one. I'm now very active in a church of a different denomination but a LOT like my Dad's church. I "get it" in a way I might not otherwise. And I'm pleased I'm now in a position to "return the favor" just a bit. .

I grew up Pentecostal, UPC. Never missed a service until my teen years when i went to a couple different churches and wasn't really living for the Lord. I began attending a Non Denom church and rededicated my life to Jesus. I now attend a Full Gospel church but refer to myself as transformed Pentecostal with Arminian theology with a reformed twist. Make sense?

Uhmmm...i'm confused Aimes, but that happens a lot. lol I grew up a DK (deacon's kid lol), and graduated to a PK woooo hoo! lol. But I grew up going to church, my parents stayed at the same church for over 20 years and then my dad started pastoring a church and now has his own church (Well...the church God has him shepherd over). Grew up Pentecostal-Holiness (COGIC) and am still in the same denom. or i'll sometimes go to a non-denom. but I always pay attention to doctrine.
