Jeremiah 31:37 Thus says the LORD, "If the heavens above can be measured And the foundations of the earth searched out below, Then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel For all that they have done," declares the LORD. NASB Just a thought, because I have looked at this as an example of God never leaving Israel. But looking at this on its own, scientists are measuring the heavens, and we are able to search below the "foundations of the earth" or to what I would consider, the earth's crust. In context, this passage comes toward the end of a prophecy of the New Covenant.

Ohioman1972, Shalom. I think you will find that your first presumption be correct. Our scientist's have stated that they cannot find the outer reaches of the Universe. Every time they think they have found it, a new piece of equipment comes along and shows even more beyond. And then there is always earth, which does not have a foundation, but hangs in space, without physical support, as only energies hold us in our orbit, as we zip along at approximately 65,000 mph (if my memory remembers), and spin at 1,000 mph. We, the people of earth who cannot run faster than 30 mph are zipping along, and spinning much faster, no matter what our body weight. God will not fore-sake, throw away, divorce, or in any way place any other, of our kind ahead of them. IMHO. We, on the other hand, through Adoption, are elevated to equality with Israel, as well as our 'Kinsman Redeemer,' Jesus. In Messiah, be a Prince and child of God. Arley (me too, of course) Yeee-Haaa!!!

Arley (me too, of course) Yeee-Haaa!!! I agree - we are MEASURING what we know about the heavens, and the "foundations of the earth" is what the biblical authors understood at that time. But it did get me wondering, because knowledge about the physical is growing exponentially, and we are gathering more data about the expanse of the heavens. Just a suggestion

I know what you mean. Today, I talk about the 'good old days' when all we had to do was slide the rule, and track the zero decimal points. Today, I tell all the young people, who will listen, that they will never graduate from school, but will spend half of their workday trying to keep up with the technology of their profession (and that is for those who intend on hauling trash ). Today, most of them chuckle, and give me that "Oh-Sure" look. Little do they know that they will find out the day they graduate from one school, and the main speaker will be telling them to show up the next day for 'continuing' education......Sure am glad I am an OFU&R, all I have to do is spend what little I receive in my monthly retirement check. I figure that the only way mortal MD's will allow me to graduate to Jesus is by my Living Will, which tells them: 'No super heroic procedures.' I can't hardly walk now, why would I desire to live another 20 to 30 years? Eeeeeuuuuck!!! (the opposite of Yeee-Haaa!!!). I call myself one of the "Last Dinosaurs," so I cannot even donate my body to science (I'm not High-Tech enough). But I sure had fun living through the most fantastic years of History, ever: Born in the Depression, childhood spent playing 'soldier,' during WW-ll, High School during Korea, Navy, through everything between Korea, and ,,,,,,,,,,,e-gad, I can't remember what was going on in 79, when I retired and went home to the farm...........Oh, well,,,,,,,,I saw a bunch of history, fancy radios, TV, Tape Players, 8-Track, Cassette players, CD's, DVDs, Cell Phones, CB-Radio, Shooting the Moon, Landing after shooting the moon, anon......................I could write a book, but no one can read anymore,,,,,,It has to be in 3D, fantastic color, extra wide life-like screen (I started out with mostly Silent movies, and some talkies (Black and White only, except for Wizard of Oz, filmed in 1938)..............End of Day-Jaw-viewing... In Messiah, His blessings for a wonderful mortality 'in' Jesus, for a fantastic eternity 'with' Jesus, in His Shalom. Arley
