You could cook the potatoes a day a head in the crockpot.

Do you have a microwave?

If you cook the potatoes in the crockpot and then mash them, you could reheat them when time to eat them.

Just a thought, but could you bake the potatoes while the turkey is roasting & then peal & mash.

If you lived closer I would let you borrow several crock pots or my electric fry pan. Either one can & do cook potatoes for mashing, or you could do instant mashed potatoes for this year.

What about cooking the stuffing in the oven with the turkey and the potatoes in the crockpot together using one of those things that elevates one food?

Also agree that you can bake potatoes then peal and mash. I've done that for stuffed baked potatoes, etc....and baked potatoes peal much easier than raw.

Sounds like you have a great attitude and will accomplish a wonderful meal in your home. Blessings.

One Thanksgiving day our oven burned out. Got up to put the turkey in and no heating element.

My parents arrived with our Christmas gift in their car---an Amana Radarange (one of the original microwaves). We're talking 1982. So we
had our turkey cooked in our Christmas microwave. It didn't look the best but we all felt blessed.

Does anybody you know have a hotpan? You know those little burner things that you plug in? I think they get hot enough to boil water.

1 time all of our power was out for 5 days (including Thanksgiving) so we called the church and got permission to go over there and cook our dinner in their kitchen. Any church nearby you could ask?

We now have a generator :) Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

If you have a camping table and chairs, don't you have a camp stove? I've cooked entire meals on mine.
