So after two episodes, how does it stack up?

I find it very interesting. He is an intriguing character. The show definitely makes you think.

I like it. I like that he has no authority, yet still solves the cases. I like that he is not so serious. And he is very cute.

Darn! I keep forgetting to watch it & now I've missed two episodes. I need to put a reminder on my phone.

I agree, it's an interesting show. Kind of a cross between "The Profiler" and "Psych"... although both shows were/are better by quite a bit.

We gave Fringe 2 weeks as a new show.
We've given the Mentalist 2 weeks as a new show.

They come on at the same time.

We're going back to the Fringe, since we both agree on that.

I'll have to watch the summer reruns of it.

I like this show. He is quite the observer, isn't he?

I really like this show too. I am a big fan of Monk and Psych, and we try to figure it out ourselves. Fun. Looking forward to more episodes on all of them.

You don't have to wait for reruns if you have a decent connection, you can see the episodes at http://www.cbs.com/video/?showname=primetime/the_mentalist#video

I'm enjoying this. Anyone else still watching? I also started watching 11th hour which seems a sort of cross between Mentalist and Numb3rs

This is our new favorite show. We really like this one.
I try not to add too many new shows each season but this one I had to watch and am so glad I did!

This is on our must see list, too. I like the head CBI officer, too. That actress has come a long way from grungy teen movies!

I like the way the humor creeps in. Reminds me a little of M*A*S*H, the way the humor creeps in with the storyline, no matter how sad-bad-difficult.

It's fun to watch Patrick James figure things out. How he deals with folks and watches them is very interesting.

I am enjoying this show as well. Baker's character is amazing and well played. It is difficult to tell when he is being serious and when he is yanking someone's chain. That is part of the charm.

So what do you think? Was he being serious when he said what he was going to do when he caught the guy that slaughtered his family?
