I have noticed several posts where someone says God but posts it G-d. What is that all about? I have never seen that before?

thank you so much. I understand. I don't agree, but I do understand now.
I agree that I think it's a bit silly. We are not Jews, we are followers of Jesus Christ, and his grace as taught by the apostle Paul. It seems a bit odd to take a Hebrew writing practice and carry it over into another language. Are we to get a new quill, and bathe and change clothes everytime we write God's name like the scribes did who copied the Bible?
