This is really happening... the lawyer is about to put out the subpoenas. All of our potential babysitters are either going to be getting one or have to work/school so Mom and Dad Penner are coming up to be with the kids and offer emotional support. I know they are going to try to make us sound dangerous or inadequate. Please pray that I don't start to doubt myself, and the whole process won't be to painful to endure.

Noah has another eye appointment tomorrow (well, I guess it's today now). Please pray there is improvement. He has done very well with wearing his glasses all the time, but if there is not enough improvement, he may need bifocals. I ended up breaking down over his eye issues and attitude issues during our meeting tonight and was prayed for immediately. The things I am dealing with right now are all overwhelming me. Probably doesn't help I had to bring Nick back to his mom's before the meeting. No resolution. Nothing that can be done. Nothing is moving. One of those "why, God?" moments, but I don't have the energy to ask.

Please pray for our little dog, Staci. I woke up about 5 to go to the bathroom & she had several accidents, but it was just bloody mucous stuff (sorry for the gross out factor). She has had several more episodes & she threw up once. I called the emergency vet, but they close at 8 and she'd probably just get seen & we'd have to take her somewhere else (also we'd have to pay the emergency fees). Our regular vet opens at 8, so I'm going to call them as soon as they open. They are just a clinic, but I'm hoping they can either see her to diagnose, or direct me where to go.

Praying Donna and Amy, both those request "hit home" and close to the heart since I've had similar situations. Pray for us today. My 3 older kids have an orthodontal consultation. We have no money to pay for braces!! No insurance for this either. There is a state program that I am hoping will cover this. I am hoping that at least my DD will qualify for. Otherwise, I am hoping that their teeth aren't as bad as the dentist say and we can let it go. I am hoping he at least says this for our boys whose teeth don't look that bad to me. My DD has a very small mouth, so I think she will need some work though. This might sound silly, but my DD got "high lights" in her hair yesterday. A friend did it, she tried to put blond in and it turned pink She tried to fix it, but now instead of high lights, it just looks like all her hair got colored to a pink, reddish, purplish, orange color with one strip of blonde right in the front! Her hair looks like fall leaves! I joked that she might end up with rainbow hair... we'll, it is close ~ lol. Anyways, we have an older church, so I'm hoping they wont say anything. It is really none of their business, but you know how people can be.

Jennifer just called me from the ER. Brandon is in terrible pain on his right side. It sounds like appendicitis. The ER told Jennifer that there are eight people ahead of Brandon to triage. Pray that Brandon will be fine and that they will quickly find out what is wrong with him and treat him to bring healing.

Praise report ~ My boys will most likely be able to get by without orthondontic work. They are going to pull a couple of teeth so that some permanent teeth have a better chance of coming in straight. And, they will see them again next year, but because their bite and mouth is symmetric, he thinks they will get by with just a little bit of crowding. DD. on the other hand, needs to have things done but he is pretty sure she would qualify for some type of program that the state offers. Her mouth is severe enough for that since she has a crossbite, among other things..... now we are just praying that sh will be accepted into the program because this could cost right around 5,000 dollars.

I had a rough day today. I need to sleep well so I can heal. 1. I feel sicker today than yesterday and my nose is raw 2. I was coming in the house and tripped on the 2 inch stoop and fell and scratched my wrist and banged my leg 3. i was going down the basement with a basket of laundry> I thought I was at the bottom but was really the bottom step. I barely caught the edge of it and twisted my ankle and fell. My ankle still hurts. My other upper leg is sore and my nose hurts.

Russ here, Lisa has just been hit with some awful stomach cramping, just in the last few minutes. Not sure what is going on yet. Please pray for her.

just a quick request here. Dh has decided that he is going to make it his goal to get the kids to stop wanting to go to church, and he doesn't want them to go to church or learn about God anymore. He's been telling them behind my back that God isn't real and all sorts of his "truth" like that. So I would appreciate prayer for a change of Dh's heart back to the Lord and that these lies of the enemy would fall on deaf ears. Thank you

Pray for the 2nd grade room at our AWANA club this year. I found that another one of the leaders in our room is in a similar situation as I am. However, her's is a case of desertion in January. I am glad we "found" each other. However, there are now 2 out of 8 leaders also dealing with personal crises this year. I just looked over our lists of kids in our groups and it looks like we both have "strong" kids in our groups: kids who are regulars, churched kids, say most of their books, etc.

Pray for DD2 especially now. SHe is really feeling left out. She is very much a girly girl: likes looking pretty, watching princess movies, etc. She has an older sister who is more of a tom boy and a little brother. Quite often the other two want to do something of a more boyish nature that she isn't interested in and she feels like she doesn't fit in with her siblings because they are more similar and she is different.

How was Noah's eye appt? I was particularly interested because I work in Pediatric Ophthalmolgy. Three years ago I quit full time work to bring the girls home for school and now "moonlight" 4 days a month. Did he need bifocals? The whole process can be confusing!!

Noah's eye is doing great! The eye doctor is really impressed that Noah is tracking things and seems to be focusing on things. I patch his good eye every day and he use to fuss about it, that made the doctor think that he wasn't seeing very good. Now, he doesn't fuss though, he just goes on with life as normal when his eye is patched. Until he is just tired. PRAYER~REQUEST.... DH can't seem to find work around here. He is "looking" into other states. I'm not ready to move again, but know it would be necesary if I needed too. I think I'm more nervous about another "bumpy" year with home schooling, especially if we end up in a state that requires testing or something. I"m also nervous about Noah's medical bills if we had to move out of state.

Pray for a lady who posts in the homeschooling support thread. She lost her job and needs some wisdom and peace from God right now.

I have had a headache for the last 21 hours or so. I woke up with it in the middle of the night and took something. Then it woke me up an hour before I needed to be up for the day. I've been fighting it all day. It didn't help that my SS class is held in a tiny room off the sanctuary. One lady had on strong perfume and then I could hear the hum/buzz of the florescent lights all through class and then the heater turned on and that was buzzing for the rest of the class too. By the time SS got out I could barely see straight and went back to one of the youth rooms to lay down till the worst of it passed. NEver went completely away though.

My niece (the one who has an almost 2 year old daughter) has a hearing with her ex-bf this Thursday (20 Sep). He is the one who initiated it because he wants custody of their daughter. He had her sign some paper a while back that she thought just said he didn't need to pay child support because she & the baby had been living with him & his family. But apparently it was a document that said she would give him custody. I'm not exactly sure if she didn't know what she was signing or if he switched the first page to say something different. This was a document drawn up by his lawyer, but it was NOT notarized OR witnessed by anyone buy him. I don't think it will bear any weight with the mediator/magistrate (whoever it is they are meeting in front of). He has not paid child support in a long time & the amount he was supposed to pay ($25 or $50/month) was based on his being a high school student working part time. He graduated & dropped out of college & hasn't been working until just a few weeks ago. Well, he had a job & got fired for theft (not paying for pops & candy bars he ate when he was on the night shift). My niece has been working 1 or 2 jobs steadily and Has her own apartment. She has had problems with him NOT returning my great-niece when he says he will & he thinks he ought to get her every Wednesday & every weekend. Along with him wanting my niece to pay for his gas when he comes to get great-niece & brings her home. I'm asking for prayers for the person in charge of the hearing to see what is best for my great-niece and for the court to set up child support & a visitation schedule that will work well. Also, prayers for peace for my SIL. She tends to worry a LOT & keeps dwelling on the worst case scenario.

Church clerk stuff happening here. End of year report. with the addition of a woman that is openly disgusted with me badgering me for information for her history that is due in October. I am still waiting on information from committees and I am not being ugly about it. I also hate being chased by my phone and this woman has called me seriously 9 times since Friday Fussing how she needed the numbers this sunday--- then she called this sunday at 7am(!) to tell us that she wouldn't be there to get them and gave an email address. Please pray for me to know when to turn the ringer off and for me to have grace and show mercy to this woman that has never shown me any at all. I turned the ringer off this AM and she has called twice already. I am thankful that I have band and will be leaving soon. ~ezri

Pray for our household concerning bedtime. AUGH I just deleted my whole post trying to edit part of it... Toddler ds usually goes down pretty well. He does occ protest hoping he can see daddy (who is rarely home by bedtime), but if you catch him @ the right time sleep overtakes him. (ETA we had been having problems w/ him--but I moved back his bedtime & as long as I can keep the others quiet...) Older two kiddos just don't want to go to sleep--they do the bedtime routine & go to their rooms (no disobedience or disrespect there) til daddy gets home (which can be as late as 10-11 most nights) & by then they are so wired they cannot sleep (and then the rude behavior or disobedience starts). Which leads to icky behavior the next day. And I am up til 2 or so doing school stuff & house work, then the baby is up for her night feeding...sometimes one of the other kiddos has a nightmare or is sick or wets the bed or...and then it is time to get up & pump & start the day... So I am sleep deprived which leaves me stressed & not prepared to deal w/ the foul moods of overtired chidren. I love home schooling but I am feeling burned out by the stress of this...I am considering posting a thread in parenting but it seems like every time a mom (or dad) who is simply seeking to improve their home life asks for advice on dealing w/ their kiddos issues someone feels the need to slam them for their failure to discipline their children...pray for me on this too. I don't take the "you are a failure as a parent...if only you had done A< B C when they were toddlers, you have ruined them now" advice very well Shell

Please pray for me. I had a blinding migraine that hit me Wed. 12 sept. It moved into the back ground by the 15th but it has rebounded twice since to the point of light/sound sensitivity and mild nausea. Today is rebound #3. I am sitting in the computer room with the thermal lined curtains drawn and only light from the monitor. Trill and Triss have hidden the vacuum cleaner and threatened the boys with physical harm(to be administered outside) if they turn the TV up over 20 (50 is max). I have taken some excedrine but it is only taking the edge off. I have not stopped life- I can't. Things only get uglier if I do that so I move on. Christmas play practice #1 is this afternoon. I have talked to the pastors wife and she 100% understands that I am NOT participating anymore than a stern look from the pew. She said that is all she needs- for the kids on stage(not only mine! but ALL of them) to know Mean Mommy Mary who WILL correct them and tell their folks she did so is sitting in the audience to keep them straight. I dunno how this is gonna go today but I have to be there for this organizational meeting. Maybe the kids will be sent outside and the moms will be talking about practices and what roles we think our kids can do. I am NOT looking forward to the NOISE. ~ezri

I just got an email from my mom. Seems Grandpa is not doing well. He's been in a nursing home since he broke his hip this summer. He had been doing well, responding well to PT. However, today he has had several set backs. There is thought that he has had another stroke. Things are not looking good... He turned 90yo earlier this month.

I am taking DD2 to the doctor on Wed. She has been fighting almost constant headaches for several weeks. Also, for about 4 days now she has had stuffy nose and sore throat. I don't think there's actually anything they can do about the nose/throat. No fever just sore and miserable from the neck up. Hopefully she can suggest/give me something about the headaches. I know why she has them but nothing I can think of seems to be helping.

DD2's appointment went well. Gave her an Rx for something to take at bedtime to help prevent migraines. Also suggested organic foods for her so we went to the grocery store today and got her some fruits (regular not organic) but then got her some fruit bars, cookies, popsicles from the organic aisle. I am about to head to the dentist for a 1.5 hr appointment.
