Yes! I've had my car back a week. It's got new speakers but not the new stereo yet. Hopefully that will be done on Saturday...Jesse permitting.

THe elder's aunt bounced back and is now doing fine - out of the hospital even.

He got a '03 Mazda 6 with 85k miles on it, about normal for that vintage.
He wanted a standard transmission but none was available in his price range so he went with this one. As long as it lasts until he graduates and gets settled into his job, it will do just fine.

A mazda 6 is quite a nice car. A Mazda 3 would suit me better...it's slightly smaller. With the whole transmission thing do you mean manual or automatic? My car's a manual, I don't think I could handle having an auto, you just can't get the most out of the car. And it would suck in the hills anway, not enough power.
Been on the phone to the Australian Taxation Office for over half an hour now POST

We had some strong thunder come thru here yesterday - remnants from Gustav I think. Last week TS Hanna came thru here. At least we will see none of Ike, at least for a while.

Happy anniversary!!
Soccerguy has a mazda 6 with manual. I saw him looking at them online just after we were married, then while he was a work, I drove over to a local lot, found a grey one, drove it to his office and surprised him with a little test drive. He bought it within the week. *grin* His old car had died on the road coming home from a business trip and he was driving the family 15 passenger van to work everyday. Definitely not cool! Anyway, I figured a man who gave up toys and stuff in return for sixteen kids should be able to have a cool vehicle to drive to work in and back home again.

Thanks, Dave, I wasn't aware of that rule. I was trying not to be lazy-brained, so I checked out the school supplies thread. You should see the pic of my kids all lined up and ready for open house with backpacks and lunch boxes set in front of each of them. It's at back to school shopping, take three.
