You beat me to it. Glad they canceled Viva Laughlin and put this on instead of making us wait.

I was surprised to see a preview for it, saying it started on 11/4 ... AND now completely dreading and cringing at the inclusion of a lesbian "minister" couple. I'm going to have a real problem watching that. Come soon Lord Jesus.

Woo-hoo Nov. 4th! Phil! I too am so happy that Viva Laughlin didn't last long! Which is somewhat amusing due to all the advertising done for it. Hee. And for the lesbian "minister" couple, makes me go a bit ewww, but the show has had gay folks on there before and as long as they don't promote their lesbianism on air, I'm okay with watching. And gotta say, if past Races are any indication, two older women won't be lasting long.

Finally! Season 12. I have been checking CBS.com off and on trying to figure out when the next season will be on. Hmph! If it wasn't for crosswalk I wouldn't have known. November 4th - is it back on a Sunday?!? Why don't they put it back on a Tuesday? I'll be checking CBS.com asap to find out who the racers are this time around. I can hardly wait. I've been watching the replays on GSN & it's like I never saw this a million times before. This is the only reality show that I enjoy.

I stopped watching it long ago. It kept getting bumped later , then finally that cia undercover show came on at that time and totally knocked it off. But I was already bored with it. It was a neat show, but they started doing the stereotypical groups vs eachother instead of just people racing. ie; "the gay couple" "the hippies" "the old couple".

I think putting them on the show is just the medias way of making it the norm - with your reaction to it I see you already have. Some years ago they would have cancelled the show before it aired. Not only is it saying it is "normal" to be gay - it is saying it is okay to be gay and call yourself a minister. We need to not support the shows that insist on shoving this at us as if it is okay.

Please don't tell me what I believe and don't. No, I do not think homosexuality is the norm, and I apologize if my earlier post led you or anyone else think just that. But I'm not going to exhaust myself getting appalled and offended at everyone who has sin in their lives.

The show is not promoting lesbianism or gays. I did not see anyone jumping up and down when they had a Christian couple and a regular pastor and his wife a few years ago- I did not see anyone saying the show was promoting Christianity. Even if they were not in the show- it is a norm for some already and the show will not change any of that. If the show will offend people because of the gay minister couple, then feel free not to watch the show but I started the thread for some who would be watching the show. If you're totally against the show and just want to discuss one team because of homosexuality, then feel free to open up another thread on why not to watch it.

I think the 2 last donkeys were stressed out with all that yelling. Ari's voice is already irritating to begin with and him screaming at the donkey....no wonder the poor thing did not move. And yes...they do have strange teams this time.

I'm so glad this is on again! I thought this was a pretty funny episode. I'm ok with who lost, they were a bit annoying. Funny about the "karma" thing - they stole the cab and they got the boot. Yeah, hopefully gay couple doesn't last long - fairly likely being 2 older women.

My thoughts on last night -Totally thought Kynt and Vyxsin were an all female team -Ari and Staella got what they deserved after stealing the cab (I like how their driver let the cab behind them pass them too! You know the driver felt bad that he picked up the wrong people) -Donkeys are the most stubborn animal in the world and not only that but animals can sense human emotions. Yelling, hitting, crying around donkeys are not going to make them move! -Nathan and his partner (Jennifer) - only 24 minutes into the show and she is already complaining that she doesn't know if she can spend her life with him. That annoyed me. I like Azaria and Hendekea, Ron and Christina but it's only the first episode so I'm sure that could change.

I knew when I saw the donkeys it was going to be an interesting twist. Donkeys can be so temperamental. When they decide to stop, they stop - not easy to get them going again. When the donkey brayed at Ari and Staella, my son said, "He's laughing at them, Mom." It is definitely going to be an interesting race. Don't have a clear favorite yet. Looking forward to next week.

Don't have clear faves so far either, but I thought the goth couple were kinda cool. I'm not around that lifestyle much and they're kinda fascinating. Though I too thought when I first saw their picture with racer bios in the link jodavi posted above that they were both female. But I like most any team that is encouraging and supportive of each other, especially in stressful situations. Unlike Nathan and Jennifer, which I hope they won't continue to be a screechy, nasty-to-your-partner pair.

I was amazed at how many people commented that this was the hardest thing they'd ever done. Well, I wasn't surprised at that, but that it's being said so early. I'm thinking, "You ain't seen nothin' yet!" I don't know if I could have gone across a wire over water -- either pedaling or riding. I agree about the donkeys. All that yelling and frustration and pushing probably only made it worse. I was ok with the couple who came in last. I don't have any clear favorites yet. I liked the brother and sister except for at the beginning when he was talking about how intelligent they were. But I like them overall. Though I would be against the gay or Goth lifestyles, having gay people on shows like this has helped me see past their lifestyle and to empathize with them and have compassion on them as real people. I was prepared not to like the Goth couple, but they actually were kind of funny, and they were supportive of each other. I felt bad when other teams called them freaks. I don't know why we have more trouble with them than the fornicating heterosexual couples. They all just need the Lord.

And the race is off with a bang. Too early for me to have favorites. Not sure what to think about the minister couple - it's not enough to offend me or keep me from watching the show, but I kept thinking..don't they feel conviction from the holy spirit? How does that work? Anyways, the couple who went out first did reap what they sowed, although it's not the first time a team has stolen a cab and it won't be the last. I felt bad for the donkey that was braying around the fighting couple..wasn't it kinda early on in the race to be screaming at eachother? The successful team will be the one that works together. This should be an interesting race!
