I predicted that Jennifer and Nathan would have a meltdown (argument) this season, I just didn't think it would happen so soon! If they can get that stressed out on leg 1, they won't survive. I think that Rachel & TK are the team to beat this season. They work together well and are strong. Good showings also from the Goths (I think they are funny) and the brother/sister team. My husband and I were commenting on how there doesn't seem to be very many normal people on the show anymore. People are either odd or amazingly beautiful - no normal looking, down to earth people this season. All of the women are thin and pretty.

Well, I think the gay ministers and the goth couple will draw viewers, and that's what the producers want. This is a business and they will get the audience in whatever way they can! As for me, I am offended to see the gay ministers. I'm hoping they will be eliminated very soon - like next week! I think the goth couple are highly entertaining and I'm not offended at all by them. I don't have a favorite team yet, but I've got some that I wouldn't mind seeing gone - the young kid and his grandpa got on my nerves a bit, as did the two sisters. Things could change, though! We are only seeing what they want us to see and probably not what is really happening!

Good start so far. Still no favorites yet. The brother and sister are iffy, they started off completely lost but then got ahead. So we''ll see how they do, engineers can sometimes be too analytical and not see the obvious.

ORIGINAL: ebony101 And what do you all think of the delay with the first flight? I think it's about time! I've barely been on ONE flight over the last few years that wasn't delayed (or downright canceled), so the fact that they fly so often on this show and seem to have relatively few delays or issues makes it seem like they're in some parallel air travel universe! 'Course most of the racers' flights seem to be on foreign airlines ... so maybe it's just the American companies that are so horrible. Here's a thought: make them fly somewhere and require them to fly US Airways! That'll shake things up pretty nicely!

I'm sort-of hoping that things will get really hectic on the race, and they'll have to give up their make-up regimen -- it'll be a lot easier to take them seriously. Kynt looks too much like Marilyn Manson this way! Hope it dose to.

I was soooo relieved to see Kate and Pat eliminated tonight. I told my mom that I can handle watching a homosexual couple. It's really no different than watching a couple that lives together... all sins are equal in God's eyes. But the fact that they were "ministers" just sickened me. To claim to be serving the Lord when you are so obviously glorying in sin is... well, there are just no words! I think Kynt and Vyxin (sp?) are going to be my faves. --Kat

I just feel bad for the daughter. Her father really doesn't know how to speak to her.

He did seem to acknowledge at the end that he had some things to work on.

I didn't think Kate and Pat would last. You have to race aggressively. That doesn't mean being ill-mannered or deceitful to those around you, you can be as polite, kind and helpful as possible, just you have to realize it's a race and you must be on the go at all times, and don't expect to simply plod along and think endurance is what will keep you in the race. Speaking of the dad with the daughter, he had me scratching my head at how he went off on the grandson of the grandfather/grandson pair (I haven't learned everyone's names yet). True, the grandson was somewhat rude and pushy with the ticket person at the airport, but what the dad did was a little too much. And also too much is I'm already tiring of those blonde girls, they can act quite tacky. I guess it's easy to make comparisons to Dustin and Candace (aka the Beauty Queens) from past seasons, but they (the BQs) were rather cool, and with cool, the goth couple are still that way. They are such fun to watch, hope they go far in the race.

I'm with y'all! Totally glad the married ministers are done. The Dad drives me absolutely crazy! HE was the one who didn't want to "hoist" AND who didn't want to search the bikes, and he accused HER of being indecisive?! Constantly harping on her all the time. I thought she handled it really well. The Mom is probably cringing watching this now. I know - these blondes fit the stereotype a little too well unfortunately! The one wouldn't even hug her friend at the pit stop because she was dirty?! Some friend. Doesn't that one guy look a bit like Mark Wahlberg?

Horsepill, I agree. I couldn't understand why that dad was butting into the other teams business. So they were rude. They will pay the consequences for it.

I also agree -- why even get involved and cause conflict with the other racers? That guy (Ronald) seems like the type who can't keep his comments & thoughts to himself, when sometimes he really should. Besides, Nicholas didn't seem THAT rude with the airline agent. He seemed to be in a hurry ... and maybe there were things we didn't see in the broadcast ... but I've seen people who were far more rude at the airport (and I've seen very rude agents, too!).

No doubt. And besides, don't you almost WANT the other teams to be rude, then the agents are more likely to help you because you were nice.

The daughter was amazingly patient. Even when she finally confronted him about his behavior she was respectful.

I kinda like the grandfather/grandson team. Grandpa sure did his share by getting over that ditch, even if it meant stripping down to his skivvies. LOL!!

I was happy to see the ministers go...hopefully they didn't get too far in getting people to think it's ok for ministers to be gay. I liked Ron and Christina the first week, but the dynamics of their relationship upset me. I don't understand why the airline workers were commenting to other racers that the grandson was rude. The airline workers know that the racers are coming to them, I'm sure they have to expect them to be a little anxious. And I really didn't need to see grandpa in his underwear, but I guess whatever works! Nathan and Jennifer are still annoying me, I suspect that will be a theme throughout the show.

I watched it for first time in awhile last night and had to do a double take when the names of the "married ministers" came up. I thought maybe they were married and ministers, but didn't realize that they were gay right away.
