What I would like to start here is to use Scripture, try to keep it to a verse or two and then give a line or two as to it's wisdom. The ones I will post I got from reading something and reworded it to fit, some are strictly mine and a few are other's quotes that I found Scripture for. I realize that there can be many sayings to fit a given Scripture but the saying should have meaning for the Scripture used. I hope I explained this clear enough, here is an example below... ============ Revelation 5:12 “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” The Lamb who died is the Lord who lives. "For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another." - 1 John 3:11 In short, this pretty much sums up Bible wisdom for me. Simple yet so profound. By contrast, worldly wisdom (education, technology, etc.) with all it's 'supposed' complexity and glory, is really empty and worthless. Now and forever.

Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up wings and soar with Eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not be faint." I always thought that "walk and not be faint" was kind of a let down, compared to the other two promises. What's the big deal about walking? Then my husband got sick, and I realized that for some people walking from the bedroom to the bathroom was the equivalent of running a marathon.

Im not sure I get the point. Is this to open discussion about why we think your interpretation is wrong? Or just to list your own thoughts on it? Maybe you should make a list in the blog forum? quote:
Revelation 5:12 “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and "glory and praise!” The Lamb who died is the Lord who lives. I get nothing referring to identifying The Lamb out of it, or reference of living. IMO, a more accurate breakdown of the verse would be: "Jesus is worthy of all." It's not really "wisdom of scripture" if it's just someone's opinion on what it means.

and James 4:4 as well. As somone who came to the Lord later in life, James 4:4 means a lot to me. Its my fave verse. I struggle with what I was and now am and that old man always wants to stick his head up. James 4:4 encourages me.

Ephesians 4:28 He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. When God puts work into your life, He expects you to put life into your work. TGIF

(1Co 10:13) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Well that sorta takes care of the sin problem. Thanks RC

I read this today, from one of Smith Wigglesworth's sermons. "Nothing happen's to the believer except what is good for him. All things work together for good to those who love God. (Rom 8:28) But we must not forget this additional injunction, to those who are called according to His purpose, (v28) Remember, you are called according to His purpose in the working out of the power of God within you for the salvation of others. God has you for a purpose! J

From Proverbs: As a man thinks in his heart so he is. The way you see yourself on the inside is the way you are.

Ecclesiastes 4:1-3 1 Guard your steps as you go to the house of God and draw near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools; for they do not know they are doing evil. 2 Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your words be few. 3 For the dream comes through much effort and the voice of a fool through many words. Psalms 122:1 I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD.” To be spiritually fed, go to church with a good appetite, not a bad attitude! TGIF

Jesus teaches that those who eat his flesh and drink his blood shall have eternal life. And he also tells us that we are to eat his daily bread, those who go to church to be fed are usually starving.

Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Nothing weakens the truth more than twisting it.

quote:
ORIGINAL: growingseed Jesus teaches that those who eat his flesh and drink his blood shall have eternal life. And he also tells us that we are to eat his daily bread, those who go to church to be fed are usually starving. John 6:52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” John 6:53 Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Jesus undoubtedly was referring to the Holy Spirit. The Spirit imparts life to the believer; it is not transmitted by the process of physical eating. Jesus was saddened by the dullness of some of his disciples that prevented their believing in the sense that they did not appropriate him. Jesus would have not told them to do something that was against what God has said not to do, in fact; driving them away. Leviticus 3:17 “‘This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or any blood.’” Leviticus 17:12 Therefore I say to the Israelites, “None of you may eat blood, nor may an alien living among you eat blood.” alien - was anyone other than an Israelite. Leviticus 19:26 “‘Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it. “‘Do not practice divination or sorcery. Deuteronomy 12:16 But you must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water. Deuteronomy 12:23 But be sure you do not eat the blood, because the blood is the life, and you must not eat the life with the meat. Deuteronomy 12:24 You must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water. John 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. Jesus words in John 6:53 were symbolic - God would not go against Himself. TGIF RBKay
