My husband is a pastor. We began our second pastorate at a new church that had 5 microphones positioned across the platform---something my two-year-old son had never seen. Following our first service, most of the people were still there chatting and getting acquainted when Jeff slipped away from me and onto the platform. Having watched waaaay too much TV, he mimicked the commercials. Before I could get to him, he grabbed a microphone, put it to his mouth, and loudly told the entire building, "OK, America, show us your Underalls!" So much for being a dignified clergy wife!!

When Britt(hmmm...same child again) was four, she had asked Jesus into her heart and after a few months, we deiced it was time for her to take communion. We had been talking to her about the seriousness of it and what it meant and she seemed to really understand. So, when communion Sunday came around again, there sat Britt proudly holding her little bread and cup. When Pastor told us to eat the bread, she put it in her mouth and of course when it was dead silent, she said quite loudly "this tastes like dirt". Apparently she wasn't quite as ready as we thought

Another time when she was 3, she had been acting up pretty badly in church and wasn't heeding any warnings, so finally her daddy decided it was time to take her out. He got about halfway down the isle with her, when she looked at one of the ushers standing there and yelled "Pray for me!"

People still comment about that and she's 23 now

My son was about six months old when he had some sort or bacterial infection. This was his first illness that required antibiotics. THe doc put him on Amoxicillen which (i know now) can cause diarea (I'm sure i spelled that wrong). Anyway we were walking through the grocery store when i saw something yellow on my shoe. I bent down to see what it was only to realize there was a whole trial of yellow dots behind me. My son had what i have come to call rotten scrambled egg pooh and it had come up his back and was dripping behind me. I was mortified cuz my best friend was with me (who doesn't have kids). Well my friend was gracious enough to even go in the bathroom with me and clean my ds up. We laugh about it to this day. And i refuse to take my son out when he is on an antibiotic. LOL

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

I remembered one the other day. The kids and I had to go to Walmart for something, and on the way back out to the car I was ranting and raving that I had spent almost $100 on (what seemed like) practically nothing. At one point I made the comment that "They might as well have you open up your purse as you go in the door and take $75 out as an entrance fee." Well I eventually calmed down and forgot about it...

...until...

...the next time we went to that Walmart and my then 5 yo son stomped up to the sweet, elderly gentleman greeter and asked him if he took $75 out of his mama's purse the last time we were here.

When my brother was about 2.5 yrs, my mother had a female friend to visit one afternoon. He loved balloons and was fascinated with them. Suddenly he entered the room with a big smile and said: "Mama, blow up my balloon." My mother gasped and her friend tried not to laugh.

What was the problem? It wasn't really a balloon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
