There is a scripture that says, " Do not be decieved for God is not mocked." It also says see those who do it disapear. People like Carlin do did whatever not have a healty fear of God. There are many good Christian people, and some not so good maybe, but Jesus came all might be saved. I am hoping. Saddam I saw the execution was praying with the Qu'ran, and God blanking his enimies. That was his last moments, no crying out for God. You can come to the place where your consious is seared as with a hot iorn, and you are turned over to a reprobate mind. I do not know about Carlin, he was a jerk in life, hopefully God was merciful to him, and drew him to salvation.

Is the Jesus you worship incapable of saving a Saddam? We cannot know the mind of God and last time I looked God doesn't post the names written in the Book of Life on the internet! Aren't we kind of claiming omniscience (in essence mocking God) if we claim to know FOR A FACT the eternal judgement of a man or woman? God knows George's fate, George Carlin knows George's fate, all the angels and saints in heaven know his fate, and all the poor souls in hellish torment may know his fate but I don't think anyone on this thread fits into any of those categories!

Well I saw Saddams last moments on you-tube, no repentance. Carlin I stated that I hoped for change. My Jesus, dos not want any to perish, so I stated I hope Carlin changed. Jesus was capable of saving Saddam, but Saddam, did not go that path, and if you watched the hanging ( morbid I know) you seen a man who did not cry out to Jesus. That is sad to me, it really is. quote:

I appreciate your patience with my persistence on this matter. I hope I am not wearing it that thin. But, I will not presume to know the state of anyone's soul, no matter what type of earthly life that was visible to us. I take the judge lest you be judged maybe too seriously coupled with his command to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. I am just voicing MPO so it's OK if you disgree. God bless you and make sure to thank your hubby for his selfless service to our country! Thanks again for your Christlike patience with this stubborn guy!

Yep even Matthew 6:43-48, 7:1-5, 7:12, Luke 6:27-28, 18:9-14, and John 8:7. ONLY GOD has the authority to judge the state of a person's soul. And He gave that final authority to Jesus (John 5:27) and, as stated before, Jesus has instructed us not to judge one another. As Matthew 5:22 tells us at the end that even those that hold their brother in contempt "risks the fires of Gehenna"!

I am saying that I don't know what God judges. I am not presumptuous to know the mind of God that is "inscrutable" (Romans 11:33) "For 'who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor'? Who has given him anything so as to deserve return?" Romans 11:34-35 I don't have a copy of the Book of Life so as to confirm or deny that Carlin is in heaven. For "God has imprisoned all in disobedience that He might have mercy on all." Romans 11:32

If a person rejects God they go to hell, its pretty basic. you don't need to know the mind of God to make that statement.

For "God has imprisoned all in disobedience that He might have mercy on all." Romans 11:32 Just like HisFish said - its pretty basic. Its right there in the bible how you get to Heaven and how a person is accepted there. Carlin was an atheist so that is obvious hes not in Heaven. Its not that difficult. I thought he was funny as a comedian and im sure the reason you are taking a personal offence to the truth is that you are a fan of him. The truth is that Carlin made his own choice to reject not only the word of God, but the very thought that He exists. Well he knows now. Hes not so 'funny' after all. Heres some quotes from him just so people are clear what he 'believed'. I would never want to be a member of a group whose symbol was a guy nailed to two pieces of wood. I credit that eight years of grammar school with nourishing me in a direction where I could trust myself and trust my instincts. They gave me the tools to reject my faith. They taught me to question and think for myself and to believe in my instincts to such an extent that I just said, 'This is a wonderful fairy tale they have going here, but it's not for me.' I'm completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. My idea is that these two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death. Religion convinced the world that there's an invisible man in the sky who watches everything you do. And there's 10 things he doesn't want you to do or else you'll to to a burning place with a lake of fire until the end of eternity. But he loves you! ...And he needs money! He's all powerful, but he can't handle money! Jesus was a cross dresser http://atheism.about.com/library/quotes/bl_q_GCarlin.htm Theres some more if anyone wants to read the quotes. _____________________ Now. If you think that these are quotes from a man that is now in Heaven then obviously you are reading out of a bible ive never seen before.

But i think its the best way to be when it comes to things like this. Am i glad he is in hell and chose to make that decision? Nope. I wish he wouldve given his life to Jesus. But it was his decision to make. I think alot of people should learn from him and his life and his decisions. Maybe it will teach them where they DONT want to end up.

not to change topic, but i was watching a movie about the life of fashion designer Coco Chanel. as i sat thru the movie, she made no mention of having any spiritual life. her life was pretty good, and some not too good, but i imagine her life ended up cold and lonely and then if she was not born again, all she had to look forward to after she died was even more hell, i mean literally. i cant imagine what its like to be right now in hell.. there are people there who have been suffering and in torment for 40 years and thats just a drop in the bucket, coz they have all eternity to be tormented. its a scarey thought! and some of these people in hell right now were on the earth much-loved commedians like George Carlin,, now they are not laughing. the thought of a 'nice man" like George Carlin screaming in pain and torment in hell is too much for my head right now. i guess i liked him when i was younger, as a commedian.. but its too late. others who are alive have the chance to escape but they are just going on with their life not caring. i cant believe it! i mean i can,, but its like hard to think about the reality of hell - which there is hell! even if some dont belive or dont care. . so many people are so happy in this life or so they think, when they have no thoughts to the afterlife. then its too late. Hell is a terrible place to wake up and find you've made a mistake by not casting yourself on the mercy of God's mercy and grace. hell is so bad that even i dont wish my worst enemy to go there, even someone who had hurt me and my family exceedingly in the past.. but even i dont wish those people to go to hell. thats how bad hell is.

Yeah i know exactly what you mean. Its hard to think about because a part of you wants to think its not real, that hopefully all people will be saved from it, but thats not the case. What God says - goes. Period. No matter what. Its written in the bible very plain. Yes i thought Carlin was funny on some things, and even on the things about religion until i realized he was actually telling the truth about what he thought. Until i realized that he was in fact an atheist. That he did in fact reject God. Then he wasnt so funny after that. I cant even watch him now. I heard something once that went 'Non-believers right now as close to Heaven as they will ever be, and believers are right now as close to Hell as they will ever be...' And thats so true. Right here on Earth non-believers are living the best life they will ever give themselves, because like you said if they arent born again and give their heart to God, then thats it. Game over. There are no second chances. Not once in the bible does it say 'well i guess even though a person rejects me they will still get to Heaven...' Nope. Not so much. Its really clear about how a person gets there. And whats worse is that ALL people that are in Hell right now at this moment know it. And they chose to ignore it. They chose not to hear the voice of God that was screaming out to them on Earth in so many different ways, through so many different people. They made their final choice.
