FYI - you may want to send PM's or something to those PFY thread holders....I had to search out this thread because I really didn't know what was going on, and I only ever look at my subbed threads.

Just a thought.

Thanks. I've been meaning to, but haven't gotten around to it. I'll do it now!

ETA: It looks like the only two that haven't started their new thread are aware of it, so I'm not going to PM. (Yeah, you two know who you are!)

Two questions.

1) I'm not sure if I want to save portions of the old thread. How long are they going to be around before they're gone?

2) Do the new threads we started need to be retired after one year or 10,000 posts? (This may have been addressed above, but I don't recall it.)

1) They'll be purged one year from the date of the last post, like other threads.

2) After one year. It's OK if they go over 10,000 posts in one year (since most won't).

Tricia, my MyCatSmokey's Cat Post thread, that I started in July, 2008, has only four pages and 96 posts. Do I still have to start a new thread?

Yes, Melissa, please start a new thread if you want to have one. Everyone needs to start fresh in the new year.
