I think I will start signing all my post with the letters INT. Any guess as to what it means?

I N T

This reminds me of when I replaced a supervisor on a job--a sort of paranoid supervisor--and the woman who worked closest with him asked me how to do something. I explained it with succinct and precise instruction, and she suddenly closed her eyes, tilted her head back, chin up, clenched her fists and began saying, "I am not stupid! I am not stupid! I am not stupid!"

The Den has sure been quiet this afternoon, hasn't it?

Speaking of quiet, has anyone heard from Losgan lately?

I'd better scoot. I checked two books out of the library three weeks ago, and they're due today. I tried to renew them online and found out someone else wants them. New library hours went into effect yesterday, and the library now closes at 6:00 PM on Thursday rather than 9:00. Why didn't they push back the opening to 1:00 PM instead unless their goal is to maximize inconvenience to the public?

I began learning PowerPoint today. I figured if the second grader who sent me his final project from school could do it, I could. We'll see how it goes.

Hi Gary .

Elastic, are you there, yet?

Fireworks are exploding around my house. The city allows people to shoot them off on their own property. This, of course, means they point them away from themselves and.... you got it! toward someone else! I keep asking the City if they are going to pay for my roof or my house when my neighbor burns my property up with their fireworks display.

And then, too.... I was injured very badly with fireworks when I was in middle school. Two or three adult male family members were setting them off, and the rest of the family was watching from a "safe" distance away. One was faulty and headed for us instead of up. I almost lost my leg as a result. I do go watch the professional displays, but the ones across the street or next door? I wasn't that close when I got hurt.

People are allowed to do fireworks here also. This will not be changing any time soon for cultural reasons.

Good Morning!

This might be one of those "you had to be there" moments but I just cracked myself up BAD!

I have to tell y'all, I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Also, I talk to my dogs. Like they're people. What can I say? There it is.

Anyway, I was struck by the sudden urge to belt out a tune (this happens to you, too, right?). As I was serenading I looked down and the Crazy Terrier was standing next to me, looking up at me and wagging his little tail. I told him he was a very good doggie because he likes my singing.

From GC's bedroom I hear a sudden burst of hysterical laughter.

That's when I realized just how ridiculous I am. And I'm STILL laughing.

Are you deliberately provoking me?

Everyone knows that I am compelled to tell on myself completely.

It wasn't a song. It was sort of a....I don't know what to call it...an impromptu aria? An operatic air? No words, just me being me.

I cannot believe I just admitted that.
