When I worked for a large-ish call center they gave out flu shots, but I do not willingly let people stick needles in me.

I go to the pharamacy at the grocery store and get the flu shot. They tell you not to leave for 10-20 minutes but I snuck out last time. :)

Drive through shots, that's great

I remember knowing a couple of people who worked at a preschool who would clean the toys with ammonia every week.

When you work with young children a flu shot is needed.

We sanitize toys with a solution of bleach an water...1 part bleach to 8 parts water...or something like that.

Maybe it was bleach instead, I do not remember.

10 to 1 ratio. We clean everything everyday with some form of clorox or lysol. If I touch a kid I sanitize my hands. I sanitize so much that I had to buy a new lotion to help with the dryness.

Cleanliness is good, but I hope that we don't become so obsessed that superbugs resistant to antibacterial cleaners and sanitizers become commonplace.

We went to Pearlridge Mall, and had lunch at one of Trishas favorite childhood places. There was actually two there (the Gazebo at Macy's was also there) but Farrells was the one we opted for. We went to watch the fireworks from the top of a 37 story building in downtown Honolulu, and had a pot blessing meal there...

Hope all had a good Fourth of July too.

Yeah, my mom used to take me to Farrells. John encouraged me to go eat at one of the two places to re-live some memories. I got what I used to have a lot...a Coke float. lol I also used to order Coke with chocolate syrup in it. The food was ok but whole feeling of the place was fun. Next time, we will go to the restaurant at the Macy's there. The one at Ala Moana is the one I used to go to a lot but they closed that one. The one at Pearlridge stayed open. Of course it used to be Liberty House then.

QOD: If you had a slogan named after you, what would it be?

Hawaii is not hot. It is fantastically wonderful. The highest ever recorded temperature for Honolulu was 94*. And the lowest ever record temperature there was 52*. Ah, I wish.

The humidity can actually get up the 90 percentile every so often. Ewe. lol

Mike, the weather was actually good. We were indoors for the most part of the day. It was most definitely a nice beach day though. How was your 4th?

I was taken to Farrell's for my 21st birthday. I felt so embarrased being the center of attention. However, Farrell's closed its restaurants in this part of the country about 25 years ago.

My Independence Day was nice. I attended a picnic in the afternoon and a cookout in the evening.

That's cute ds. As an adult, having a birthday party there can be quite an experience. lol! I can just picture you sitting there with your birthday hat on, the drums and whistles goin while everyone shouts your name and happy birthday. Tee hee!

I have a weird schedule this week because we are having a sidewalk sale at the mall. I'm off on Tuesday and Thursday. Everyone is expected to help out during the sale. It's twice a year.

So I'm thinking...my friend from Japan brought me some snacks from the Tokyo Disneyland and it came in a nice round tin container. The tin itself costs the most. I was thinking of selling it on EBay and seeing who out there has a knack for collecting these things. It just seems such a waste to throw it out ya know?

I may have asked this before but QOD...

Do you collect anything?
