Yep, that's Ben. We took the kids to Fort Sam National Cemetery yesterday. Both of their Grandpa's are buried there. It was all done up with flags and such. There are more photos here if you'd like to see them

If you'll peek at my blog, you'll see that I'm fascinated by cemetaries.

Beckey, Ben is growing like a weed! Is Miss Evelyn Cherrylimeade doing the same thing?

I'll look tomorrow, after I blog about today's Boston Adventure. But yes, cemeteries are an excellent way to connect with history. Weather permitting, we'll be visiting the Hancock Cemetery in Quincy Thursday. There's a broken headstone there of someone who fought in the American Revolution. All the engraving is worn away--very sad. We've been trying to identify the grave for three years. Thursday we'll show it to a friend who has connections with various Veterans' groups; she's willing to try to dig up some information. Exciting!

Loved your cemetery pics Beckey. I think I am going to take some shots of the cemetery that many of Jeff's local family is in. It's very small and it's out on an old country road. Beckey, in you Vegas shots, there is one of a bunch of golden orbs as though looking up into them with all the reflection etc. Where was that taken? My supervisor is quite curious. She has been to Vegas many times and doesn't recall seeing anything like that.

We were just walking through their casino to get to their gift shops because the girl I was with wanted to buy some masks for her daughters prom. Anyhow, I was noticing all kinds of things while I was in Vegas. Stuff like light fixtures and carpet patterns (some of my co-workers wondered why I was taking photos of the floors). Anyhow....I noticed them hanging from the ceiling at Harrah's and that's where I shot that one.

ORIGINAL: Ariella... Hi Beckey! Hope you have a great weekend! I hope I do to! We're supposed to go to a state park for a picnic with the choir tomorrow, but the weather says rain. I'm not sure if it's still on or not. Otherwise, we need to get a lot of work done around here. It's been a mess since I got back from Vegas and I just haven't had the energy or strength to start cleaning up.

I would notice stuff like the light fixtures and architecture and patterns in things too. You go girl! You would love my 2nd cousin I really just met last weekend. It would be so great if you and she could hook up for photo ops. One that I keep going back to of yours in my head is that tractor back at your sisters. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that shot. I think you should make notecards out of that. Actually as I think about it... I am going to call you soon. Maybe after you're done working. I have an idea for our Apple Harvest Festival that I would like to run by you. (((((Beckey)))))

Beckey, have you ever used your photos to make cards with? One of my penpals loves taking photos, and she makes cards with hers and sells them online, at fairs and in a nearby gallery.
