So over a month has gone by and no word yet on a possible replacement? Surely someone knows something out here.

Has anyone talked to Steve to see when his last date with GC will be? I sure would like to make plans to go see them before he leaves. Come on guys...throw me a bone here!!! lol

I didn't know that Dan had auditioned with Gold City. I know that he filled in for them some when Steve was on vocal rest. Dan has an awesome voice, but I honestly don't know if he has that Gold City sound. He may, as so many people want to see Gold City go back to their classic sound. IMO he has a very traditional style classy tenor voice....very classy.

I think that Eric Phillips probably has the best voice to be able pull some of the new stuff and the Parrack classics off without a hitch.

I can't comment much on Jodi Hosterman since I don't know much about him. I have heard him on some older stuff from a few years ago. Obviously he can sing, but I don't know much about him....I think I will try to Youtube him and see.....

How about Dan Keeton??? He disbanded his quartet...

I know Dan tried out for Gold City 5 years ago, but they eventually hired Steve Ladd instead. Maybe the second time around will be the charm for him.

I listened to the clips of the new Mark Trammel Trio album on the Singing News homepage and I have to say that if you listen to the clip of Eric's voice on the song "Safe On The Glory Side" it sure reminds you a lot of Jay Parrack....man I wish he was interested.

Now to all you MTT fans out there....put the rocks down and no one get's hurt!!!!

Life on the road singing is a grind that puts stress on your home and family life, as well as one's marriage. Sometimes you just gotta give it up to keep things together at home. Most people in SG say they love singing with the guys, but riding the bus, sleeping on the bus, living on the bus is no fun at all.

I can totally understand that... Maybe that is why the Kingdom Heirs keep a pretty steady lineup... They don't travel a whole lot!!!!!

Jeremy would be a perfect fit for Gold City But.... I really like him where he is at right now, the Old Paths are a great fit for him!!! They have a really good ministry going on there. Gold City's Schedule probably would not work out for Jeremy, I believe he has said in the past that the schedule he is on with Tim and Doug is perfect for him. So he can fit in his other career pursuits!!!!!!

Jeremy Peace is a phenomenal tenor. he does NOT need to be the tenor for Gold City though.
Personality goes a long way people. I'm talking about off stage and in everyday life. It's not my place to tell you why, but he needs to stay where he is.
GC is better off.

I think that was a pretty low remark, tenor247. I know Jeremy, too, and he is a wonderful person on stage and off. I'll bet you haven't even seen him lately. I would like to see him stay with the Old Paths because I think he is a wonderful fit for them and he does a terrific job.

Nothing low about it Dinana. I never bashed him, i just said he doesnt fit with Gold City and personality is why. I agree he does a great job for OPQ. he is where he belongs. i merely said that Gold City is better off without Jeremy. L5BBfan, Jeremy is a great tenor as i originally said. Here's my point. It takes YEARS to build a testimony, only moments to tear it down. Jeremy is a great guy. Gold City is better off with a different tenor

I have taken a position in my church right now. I sang with a group for 3 yrs who opened for Steve and GC a couple times. Steve stepped down once and let me sing "God Handled It All" with the others while he watched. However, I am fine with the position in my church as that is where God wants me right now.
Thanks for asking though!!!

You know, if we were to all post our past failures and mistakes on this forum, certainly we would all be ashamed of one another. Many do not know this, but I was just saved this past August 27, 2008. I said a little prayer when I was 6, or should I say my family prayed over me. lol. But as I grew older, I began to learn how to sin and hide it well. I was a manipulator, a deceiver, a lier, and loads of lust in my heart. I thought I was saved surely, because of my abilities, and because of where I was at in life. But along the way, I hurt many people. I let my wife leave me because I chose my career over my family. When I went to the Old Paths, I was a hurt individual, because of my own past. Now did I go and drink, do drugs, sleep around? No. But was I a lost wretched sinner? Yes. But I know the Lord directed my way to the Old Paths, and they were burdened for me. If you spent more than a week with me, you would easily know I was lost, yet I didn't know. They wanted to fire me within the first year! I was very hard to get along with, and really just a pain to deal with. But, the first of August, 2008, I read 1st. John and realized I truly was lost. I didn't love my brother, didn't honor His commandments, and most certainly did not walk in His light. I was like the Bradford Pear tree. I looked like a Christian, but I didn't bear any fruits. I fought with this till the 27th, when I took Tim, our lead singer to the back of the bus and explained to him everything. I knew I was lost! Tim led me to the Lord that night, and I was saved from my sins.

Do I owe any explanation to anyone for my past? No. Do I share my testimony willingly and humbly? Yes.

I can not take back my past, but I'm so glad that Christ forgave me when I repented, and doesn't even remember my sins. I have send a PM to tenor247 and hope to have a better understanding as to why he may feel this way. I am sorry if I hurt you in the past, but I am not the same! You are right. It takes years to build a testimony, and moments to tear one down. But don't tear me down cause my testimony has just began, and I will share it with the world!

Jeremy you have been and will continue to be in our prayers. I know that God isn't limited as tow where and how He can use you and I pray that you will continue to see His blessings on your life.

None of us are above reproach and unfortunately when folks meet and see us they form opinions. Often they don't get a chance to see how God has worked in lives so all they have to go by is what they knew in the past.

Thank you for sharing your testimony.

Thanks for sharing that Jeremy! Who knows....it may have all been to help you reach out to someone going through the same thing!! Brian Free didn't have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ until he had been singing with Gold City for several years, and yet he had been brought up in church his entire life! I've heard his testimony hundreds of times, yet it blesses my heart every time!
