"Aloha" works for me. I was told that in England they answer the phone with "Are you there?"

ORIGINAL: Kerrlaw I hate long greetings. More than two words is a waste. In your case, I would want to hear "First Baptist". ditto but it's helpful to know who is talking too. although i suppose i could just ask to talk to whoever even if i wasn't sure who it was

At our church they just answer, "Emmanuel Baptist" but since I know the staff I can generally tell who it is. I usually just say, "Hey Elizabeth...this is Tink; is Jeff available?" and we go from there.

Consider the irony of this. While I was reading this thread, my father called. Go figure.

hahahaha. Last week I was talking to my dad on the way home from cake class (night time). I hung up just before getting home. Or at least, I *thought* I hung up. Anyway, I pull into garage, wheel the garbage out to the curb, and start walking up the driveway when I see Ed coming out of house on the phone. Apparently, mom and dad were concerned that something had happened to me so they called the land line. I only hope that I was not talking to myself after I thought I hung up on dad.

Banana Pie??? Aw, man, I want to go back to Hawaii!!! lol I bet the baby stores are very exciting for you guys! I'm so happy for you two! Hsgma, I realized I forgot to answer your question. The transition to SAHM begins in the next couple of weeks. The church will be voting on my replacement this Sunday, then I will begin to train her next week (I think). I've been out of the loop for most of this process, so I have to ask questions to get answers.

Heya, Mike! I'm sorry to hear your back is hurting. I hope you'll get to rest it this weekend. Have you ever taken therapy for your back?

Thanks FB, I just took a nap and that helped a bit. I am not in pain at the moment, but my walking around still leaves some to be desired. I go for a MRI tomorrow on this.
