I hate long greetings. More than two words is a waste.

In your case, I would want to hear "First Baptist".

And that's what I'd like to say. lol.

I'm surprised the church members haven't told me "But the official name of the church is 'THE First Baptist...."

Or perhaps I can answer the phone like I would my cell. "Yo" "What's up?" "Hey ____!" "Yabasayo" (For my Korean friend).

"Aloha" works for me.

I was told that in England they answer the phone with "Are you there?"

At our church they just answer, "Emmanuel Baptist" but since I know the staff I can generally tell who it is. I usually just say, "Hey Elizabeth...this is Tink; is Jeff available?" and we go from there.

hahaha! Thanks.

It's really too bad I don't have caller ID. Sometimes I'm just tempted to (jokingly) answer the phone "WHAT DO YOU WANT?"

Actually, I used to do that at my last job when someone buzzed from another office. Only to one certain lady though. But she started it.

I have slight caller ID and occasionally my dad will call...for the fifteenth time that day and so I'll answer the phone, "*sigh* Yes????"

I got a weird look from someone the other day for that.

Consider the irony of this. While I was reading this thread, my father called. Go figure.

hahahaha. Last week I was talking to my dad on the way home from cake class (night time). I hung up just before getting home. Or at least, I *thought* I hung up.

Anyway, I pull into garage, wheel the garbage out to the curb, and start walking up the driveway when I see Ed coming out of house on the phone. Apparently, mom and dad were concerned that something had happened to me so they called the land line.

I only hope that I was not talking to myself after I thought I hung up on dad.

What: Needs one of every flavor of cheesecake ASAP

When/where: Here and NOW

Why: because - well, just because

Sheesh. It has been a crazy week at work! Way to busy.

FunBetty, when do you start being a SAHM/lady of leisure sitting around watching soaps and eating bon-bons ? (Ha! just had to throw that in there - I was a SAHM at one time, I know it's not a life of leisure and that you only eat the bon-bons on the run because you do need to fit a meal in somewhere and because you need the chocolate to survive - doing it this way is called multi-tasking )

You're welcome here, TheAimes! My hubby (Ed - Iwillfearnoevil) has his own "Anti-cheesecake" platform so he will probably love you joining the ranks. We also have an abundance of chocolate chip cookies - can you have those? And I do LOVE carrot cake. So.Much.Yum.

Good morning, everyone!!!! Last night I was driving with Cheesecakelette (she's 9...) and all of a sudden she started telling Jungle Cruise jokes as part of our conversation. lol. I have taught this kid WELL!!!!

Good to see you, Kara, Dude, Lisa, and Hsgma! And of course, welcome to Aimes.

Help yourself to drinks of choice and desserts of choice!

Banana Pie??? Aw, man, I want to go back to Hawaii!!! lol

I bet the baby stores are very exciting for you guys! I'm so happy for you two!

Hsgma, I realized I forgot to answer your question. The transition to SAHM begins in the next couple of weeks. The church will be voting on my replacement this Sunday, then I will begin to train her next week (I think). I've been out of the loop for most of this process, so I have to ask questions to get answers.

Heya, Mike!

I'm sorry to hear your back is hurting. I hope you'll get to rest it this weekend. Have you ever taken therapy for your back?

Thanks FB, I just took a nap and that helped a bit. I am not in pain at the moment, but my walking around still leaves some to be desired. I go for a MRI tomorrow on this.
