I have had stuff to do all day so haven't had much time to say hey.

So hey y'all--

Glad you stopped by gralan. Come again. The door is always open.

Thanks Gma for the sweet words about my house. And how are you doing. Guess you got through the back to work week ok.

jh-- do you still have a bunch of snow? It has been beauteous here the last couple of days and Sunday it is going to be in the mid 60's.

A-Mighty-Oak, great moniker Mike. But I think you will always be Humbleinspirit to me.

Do you guys plant gardens in the Spring/Summer?

I have a balcony--no yard--but I do have flowers in pots. I can hardly wait to get some plants out there.

It would be wonderful to have a small yard--I love to dig in the dirt--it is very therapeutic I think.

Wow. What an amazing group of posters I see here.

Whew.

Thank you for the welcome patricia.

BTW, I love the avatar. I've not fallen asleep in my plate yet, but probably soon.

That's why I like my beard (unseen in my avatar because I do not want to scare people); it holds the crumbs of what I'm eating for later.

May God richly bless us all who are His inheriting children!

We have a vegetable garden every year.

I'm not overly fond of digging in the dirt, but I'd rather do that than do housework.

I love to pull weeds, by hand! An hour of weeding can be more helpful than an hour of therapy at times. Certainly cheaper.

I have never fallen asleep in my plate either but you never know the day may come.

And eewww about the beard--I like beards--but not crumb catchers. But to each his own--all are welcome here.

Hi pink--haven't seen you here in awhile. Glad you are in my house.

I think weeding qualifies as digging in the dirt--and you are right it is better than housework--but I don't mind housework. Of course it is just me and the catkids that live here.

I am thinking I may plant some tomatoes. Nothing beats a tomato right out of the garden--or in my case--pot.

I love tomatoes! Last year I froze some. They don't taste as good as fresh from the garden, but they are much better than those things you find in the store. I'm thinking that store-bought tomatoes should be referred to as SPAT -- Something Posing As Tomatoes.

My dad is so convinced that there is something about Adam and Eve being in the Garden prior to Sin that he wants to be buried with his favorite dirt shovel as a symbol that he is ready for duty on the other side.

I agree with you! From now on store bought maters are SPAT in my world.

I cannot decide if I want to be buried or cremated.

My parents both gave their bodies to the medical school here so they were cremated and their ashes are buried in a cemetery. My brother was cremated and his ashes scattered on some property he owned, as he wished.

Just not sure about me. Need to decide because I do not want someone else to have to make the decision. Since I do not have any close family it will be up to a friend of mine to make the decision if I do not. I think that would be kinda unloving of me to leave it to her.

my wife and i wish to be cremated, but if we die before my parents then they get to say what happens, since they think cremation is horrible.

We'd rather our ashes be placed under a newly planted tree.

We wont care, we will not be around. We will be home. ah.

Good morning!

Most of the snow melted. We are having normal weather now in the high 30's and low 40's. I actually had a chance to have my car washed.

I have two small gardens that I inherited and need serious repairs. I would like to get some herbs and vegetables going. I am going to try to do an upside down hanging tomato.

I am going to visit my father and sister on their mission field in April. I am all excited, but the airfare was horrid.

I got an e-mail yesterday if I had some "frozen vegetables" and "some eggs" for a food kitchen, and if I could drop by to help out. I have just the right thing! 6lbs of vegetables, and 90 eggs to take. What? Doesn't everyone have at least 90 eggs in their fridge? So now I have something for the afternoon and Sunday, before church, to do.

I am also getting a well deserved haircut. I think that is the only time I get touched by an adult woman! Maybe I should open a thread under singles and see how many would consider that sinful - sort of like talking to politicians.

'Morning everyone.

jh, the thread needs to go in M & E, you'll get lots more feedback over there .

Mike, glad to hear you are feeling more "mighty" and "rooted", but still "humble in spirit" - the "perfect" combination!

I told my kids that they can do whateve they want when I die, I won't care anymore, so whatever makes it easier on them is fine with me! Their Dad was cremated, so I expect that will be the way they will go. I do want to get a pre-paid arrangement for them though. Don't want them to have to be responsible for that part of things.

It looks like it's going to be another beautiful day. Hmm, wonder if it will be nice enough for a walk down by the lake...

Howdy all y'alls!

It was warm enough this morning here in Texas Hill Country for me to ride the motorcycle with just a hoodie on (meaning without the leathers).

It was bracing, but manageable.

Looking at possibly making a decision to take over the RV campervan we loaned a person money to buy and they just are not doing anything with it or about it or paying the loan off. They came to us about it.

It might be better than writing off the loan completely... but then again maybe we just need to write it off. We knew it might not get paid back when we loaned the money.

Be cool folks.
Remember to keep ice around that potato salad, it'll keep better.

Hey y'all

Another kinda busy day. Just got done making some meals and delivered them. Nothing fancy just chicken salad. But my chicken salad is a much requested item.

Gma--did you get to walk by the lake? I did get a walk in. It was wonderful sweater weather with a slight breeze. Gotta love the south in March.

jh--where are your father and sister? How long will you get to stay with them?

90 eggs?! Why did you have 90 eggs? Do you raise chickens?

gralan--over the years I have loaned money but it always brings grief it seems. So now I will help with things like food or clothes or I will help with baby/elder sitting. I will also help with laundry or cleaning. But no money.

The cremation thing can be touchy. There are those that firmly believe cremation is a sin. I think it is a personal issue and choose not to debate it. But there are those that will.

Hi Mike--How is it going today/night? Have you lost anything lately?

I did a ton of laundry today. The hamper is empty.\o/ Sort of not want to get undressed cause then there will be the start of the next laundry. Like when you clean the bathroom and then need a shower. Bummer.

I am still missing a credit card, but I know it is in the apartment...somewhere. I also accidentally broke a new CD with my chair too.

Oh dear. At least you know the CC is in the apartment--that is a relief. Sorry about the CD. They are expensive. At least to me they are.

The only good thing about the CD is that I got it from Swap-A-CD, so the cost was considerably less instead.

Have you guys done your taxes yet?

I have mine almost ready to take. Just have to get the medical stuff together.

I will get money back--but I need to go to the dentist so I will use the refund for that. I am glad I will have the money but I wanted to have fun with it.

What do you usually do with any refunds?

Usually about $400 between state and Fed, but it has been spent already.
