'Morning house... how's everyone today?

It's Friday - Yay!!

DS1 called and wants to go out for dinner tonight - my favorite "double date" . We're going for Mexican food tonight, yumm.

Anyone got fun weekend plans? I don't think I have anything going on - a nice quiet weekend. Ha! Now that I said that there will probably be a million things popping up!!

Hey there.

Not planning anything this weekend. Last weekend was the first time in ages that I did anything on a Saturday. My body paid for it afterwards. Situation normal. Fibromyalgia makes it impossible to get to church. My body definitely doesn't like early mornings. I'm in the process of changing meds at the moment too. It's helping my concentration span, but apparently makes me sleep more.

Lately, Trish, my body doesn't like early mornings either. I've turned into a 'second shift' person.

No plans for this weekend for us.... just church on Sunday. Cleaning house today...

Christine's last prescription of 8$-g4sd wasn't filled for some administrative errors, and she's still recovering from their mistake. Her experience with the 8$-g4sd seems like what you are explaining with concentration but bouts of sleepiness.

We need to get her treatment by a Rheumatologist again, since in the States here those are the only physicians actually considered able to diagnose Fibro.

I think you and her just need to eat more hot peppers and chocolate; not necessarily together.

Yea, she thinks that about me too when I tell her. hahaha

I'll eat as much chocolate as you can give me. Either milk or white. Chillis would rip my insides out, literally! My body has changed since I had gastric surgery, and things that I once loved to eat, I can't any more. It's such a crying shame.

My usual doctor, and a specialist I see, both wouldn't diagnose fibromyalgia. The specialist actually doesn't believe it exists. We finally found out the name of a rheumatologist who specialises in fibromyalgia. I could have cried when I found out there was a doctor who could and would diagnose me!

Hi y'all.

Praying for those of you with the burden of pain. Any kind of pain be it physical or emotional or mental or spiritual. Pain is pain... and a pain in itself.

I love Mexican food! Real Mex not the AmMex stuff so much. Have a great time with your favorite date, gma.

Trish, interesting about the meds having sort of conflicting affects (or is it effects--can never get those straight).

Doctors can be so hard headed! For years I have had a chronic physical challenge that I always thought was triggered by hormonal changes and fluctuations. But the doctors all disagreed and sort of patronized me and said the whole thing was because I was a type A person--that is such a laugh ask anyone who knows me. Anyway, the research now is showing that I am right. Has anyone apologized? Hah!

I am all for chocolate. Hot peppers not so much.

Hmm, chocolate dipped peppers? Maybe. I think I'd rather try the bacon wrapped jalapeno's with cream cheese though.

The Mexican place we are going to is pretty good Mexican - the family that owns it is MexicanAmerican and haven't totally given us Americans what we "want" yet .

I am thankful for my basic good health! Hope all of you are feeling better, get the medications in line and things improve.

Growing up in LA in the 60s (woo hoo!) our public school lunches were either tostadas or tacos twice a week. No problem.

Back when there were still lemon and orange groves in "Garden Grove" and "Orange County", and a little roadside stand by some orchards was selling a product they called "Orange Julius", there were a myriad of Mexican restaurants around. Mainly mom and pop shops that had the whole family working there, or so it seemed.

We ended up a couple times at Taco Bell because it was by "the mall", never because it was mexican food. (hardy har) My fave was the Bell Beefer actually. The enchirito was fairly close to leaving the realm of psuedo mexican food, but not food that is available along the US/Mexican border.

Most people know Mexican like they know Italian (taco, enchilada, burrito, tamale; pizza, pasta, gelato) What a wide range of flavors and styles are in real Mexican food.

Dianne Kennedy is a good source for some authentic rustic Mexican cooking.

I have a cousin who is a missionary to Indian tribes in Mexico. That doesn't make her popular with their government, btw.

Meds just have unwanted side effects, like making me more sleepy, you tend to put on weight using this med etc etc. It's good for some things, and not for others.

There is a franchise chain called Don Pablo's and serve "tex-mex". I have not had bad experience so far.

Chocolate with chili, even cayenne is very good! Do not forget, best mole negro has cocoa or bitter chocolate in it.

There are many xocalatl drinks (sort of predecessor of hot chocolate) that are spicy.

I am sorry to hear cherish405, that your meds have such lousy side effects. Maybe you want to chat with an OD, instead of an MD.

I know what you mean. My when my grandmother was ill with Congetive Heart Faliure (or whatever it was called) she had many, many, medications a lot them seemed to make her sicker, weaker, more tired. The meds would wipe her out all she wanted to was spend time in her bedroom.

Hi Gralan,...pssstttt, we are not supposed to talk the side effects of medications here.

Hi Everyone! I am not doing too much this weekend, will probably go see a movie later on today.

I had a close scare yesterday again, but my blood sugar was not nearly as high as it could've been. However my DR. told me that if it ever reached a certain level and I did not feel good to go the emergency room. Well yesterday, I was feeling dizzy and my sugar level had just tipped to that point. I took some medicine and laid down. Within a couple of hours it went from just over 400 to 248. Whew, I was relieved!

Hi Peeps!

Mike, are you keeping a log of what you eat and drink? Might help pin down what makes the levels spike like that. So glad the levels went down!

It is still hot. The temp was only 90 when I went for a walk but with the humidity it was sooooo hot. I looked like I had been walking in the rain.

I love naps. Laid down this afternoon for a "few minutes" and woke up 3 hours later. Must have been tired. I feel good but missed most of the day

I don't think we have Don Pablo's here. There is a place called San Jose that has good Mexican. Of course everybody that works there is from...Mexico.

I guess all that sleep has worked up an appetite ---going to look for some food.

Hi Patricia, I knew what I ate, but more so forgetting to take my metformen in the morning. It was an innocent slip as I was heading out to see my mom and brother. I simply ate too many things that were not good for me. I didn't expect to get dizzy when I got home, so I gotta watch it still.

It does sound like you are getting a better handle as to what you can and cannot have to eat or how much of whatever.

Sometimes it is hard to remember meds. I have been taking thyroid meds for 25 years and I occasionally forget a dose.

I know I felt "old" when I decided to use a pill set up thingy, but it helps! I don't really take any medication usually, so when I have a prescription for something (like the cat bite) I use the pill box or I can never remember if I took them or not .

It is really muggy/humid here. We are supposed to get some thunderstorms rollling through and it feels like it! At least the temps are down in the 70's. I really wouldn't do well where you are Patricia! Our winters are a bit of a pain, but I dont' like heat, so I guess I'm better off up here. I can always go visit my brother in the winter!

I was lazy and didn't get to church today. I just couldn't get going. So far I haven't even gotten out of my jammies! I suppose I should manage to do that, hmm?

....... we had full intentions of going. I wasn't able to get to sleep until about 4 am - 5 amish. (... and then my mom was texting me at 7am! I'm so glad she texted because now that I'm up... I can go see what she wanted! )

The girls and I will continue on a preaching serious from our old church. I'm so glad they put video sermons up on the Internet!

It's sweltering outside for us. I've learned to grin and bear it... although, breaking up mowing the yard into two days was a life saver!

My lawn is so long I think I need to buy a goat . I haven't bothered mowing the front since the road is all torn up etc. And the back yard was kind of a mess from our digging the trenches for the drain tile etc.- the clay we have up here gets like cement, so it was all over the grass and it took the grass awhile to start growing again.

I think I'm going to have to mow it next week though - or I really will have to get a goat!! It's supposed to be rainy through Monday or Tuesday, so it'll be later in the week before I can get to it.

Yesterday I noticed a tree or two that is already turning colors!! I'm not ready to think "fall" yet! Although it is probably my favorite time of year. The problem is that winter comes so soon after it . The older I get the less I like driving in and shoveling snow.

I have one of those pill thingies, too. I sometimes completely zone out as to whether or not I have taken my pills so having that is very helpful in keeping track.

The trees here haven't started their color change yet. One of the fun things of living above the city tree line I do get a birds eye view of the seasonal changes. And the sky is fascinating.

I did not go to church either and I am still in my jammies and it is almost noon!

So we're both feeling a bit lazy this morning, hmm Patricia?

Oh, I forgot to announce - I have a new family member . I think he's a "great-nephew" but I'm not sure if that's what they call a niece's baby? And would he be my kids 2nd-cousin? My Mom and Dad were both only children, so I just get lost in all these "relational" names...

I saw this in the "Den." Yes, he is your great nephew. Have no idea about the cousin connection.

I am enjoying my laziness

Never heard of mole negro or xocalatl.

I know what a MD is. What's an OD? Other than an overdose? I know you don't mean that.
