Hey there. Not planning anything this weekend. Last weekend was the first time in ages that I did anything on a Saturday. My body paid for it afterwards. Situation normal. Fibromyalgia makes it impossible to get to church. My body definitely doesn't like early mornings. I'm in the process of changing meds at the moment too. It's helping my concentration span, but apparently makes me sleep more.

. . . ..... mmmmm. I love Mexican food! Lately, Trish, my body doesn't like early mornings either. I've turned into a 'second shift' person. No plans for this weekend for us.... just church on Sunday. Cleaning house today...

Hi y'all. Praying for those of you with the burden of pain. Any kind of pain be it physical or emotional or mental or spiritual. Pain is pain... and a pain in itself. I love Mexican food! Real Mex not the AmMex stuff so much. Have a great time with your favorite date, gma. Trish, interesting about the meds having sort of conflicting affects (or is it effects--can never get those straight). Doctors can be so hard headed! For years I have had a chronic physical challenge that I always thought was triggered by hormonal changes and fluctuations. But the doctors all disagreed and sort of patronized me and said the whole thing was because I was a type A person--that is such a laugh ask anyone who knows me. Anyway, the research now is showing that I am right. Has anyone apologized? Hah! I am all for chocolate. Hot peppers not so much.

Growing up in LA in the 60s (woo hoo!) our public school lunches were either tostadas or tacos twice a week. No problem. Back when there were still lemon and orange groves in "Garden Grove" and "Orange County", and a little roadside stand by some orchards was selling a product they called "Orange Julius", there were a myriad of Mexican restaurants around. Mainly mom and pop shops that had the whole family working there, or so it seemed. We ended up a couple times at Taco Bell because it was by "the mall", never because it was mexican food. (hardy har) My fave was the Bell Beefer actually. The enchirito was fairly close to leaving the realm of psuedo mexican food, but not food that is available along the US/Mexican border. Most people know Mexican like they know Italian (taco, enchilada, burrito, tamale; pizza, pasta, gelato) What a wide range of flavors and styles are in real Mexican food. Dianne Kennedy is a good source for some authentic rustic Mexican cooking. I have a cousin who is a missionary to Indian tribes in Mexico. That doesn't make her popular with their government, btw.

Meds just have unwanted side effects, like making me more sleepy, you tend to put on weight using this med etc etc. It's good for some things, and not for others.

There is a franchise chain called Don Pablo's and serve "tex-mex". I have not had bad experience so far. Chocolate with chili, even cayenne is very good! Do not forget, best mole negro has cocoa or bitter chocolate in it. There are many xocalatl drinks (sort of predecessor of hot chocolate) that are spicy. I am sorry to hear cherish405, that your meds have such lousy side effects. Maybe you want to chat with an OD, instead of an MD.

I know what you mean. My when my grandmother was ill with Congetive Heart Faliure (or whatever it was called) she had many, many, medications a lot them seemed to make her sicker, weaker, more tired. The meds would wipe her out all she wanted to was spend time in her bedroom.

Hi Gralan,...pssstttt, we are not supposed to talk the side effects of medications here. Hi Everyone! I am not doing too much this weekend, will probably go see a movie later on today. I had a close scare yesterday again, but my blood sugar was not nearly as high as it could've been. However my DR. told me that if it ever reached a certain level and I did not feel good to go the emergency room. Well yesterday, I was feeling dizzy and my sugar level had just tipped to that point. I took some medicine and laid down. Within a couple of hours it went from just over 400 to 248. Whew, I was relieved!

Hi Patricia, I knew what I ate, but more so forgetting to take my metformen in the morning. It was an innocent slip as I was heading out to see my mom and brother. I simply ate too many things that were not good for me. I didn't expect to get dizzy when I got home, so I gotta watch it still.

It does sound like you are getting a better handle as to what you can and cannot have to eat or how much of whatever. Sometimes it is hard to remember meds. I have been taking thyroid meds for 25 years and I occasionally forget a dose.

ORIGINAL: hotsaucygma I was lazy and didn't get to church today. I just couldn't get going. So far I haven't even gotten out of my jammies! I suppose I should manage to do that, hmm? . . . . ....... we had full intentions of going. I wasn't able to get to sleep until about 4 am - 5 amish. (... and then my mom was texting me at 7am! I'm so glad she texted because now that I'm up... I can go see what she wanted! ) The girls and I will continue on a preaching serious from our old church. I'm so glad they put video sermons up on the Internet! It's sweltering outside for us. I've learned to grin and bear it... although, breaking up mowing the yard into two days was a life saver!

I have one of those pill thingies, too. I sometimes completely zone out as to whether or not I have taken my pills so having that is very helpful in keeping track. The trees here haven't started their color change yet. One of the fun things of living above the city tree line I do get a birds eye view of the seasonal changes. And the sky is fascinating. I did not go to church either and I am still in my jammies and it is almost noon!

What's an OD? Other than an overdose? I know you don't mean that.
