Romeo has left for his new home. I'm happy for him but this is soooo hard! He's been my companion for so long now, I know I will feel an empty spot in my heart without him. This is the first time in my life that I have had no pets. Mom and Dad still have the dogs, but they are outside pets. It was funny, I was out back sitting after Romeo left, and one of the Goldens just came up and put his head in my lap. So sweet!
I've deliberately scheduled today to be a busy one. I have lunch with a friend, then I offered to go pay mom and dad's bills, then Shane says he wants to take me for a movie later. I'm sure that will help some, but I will still miss Romeo tonight after we get home and all is quiet.
I told Scott (my friend who is taking him) that I was going to wait a couple weeks to let Romeo acclimate to his new surroundings before I visit. I really think that is for the best.
I'm smiling through tears, but I know this is really for the best.

I know this is so difficult. To some of us pets are more than just animals we love they are family.
It is good that you know who he is with and will be able to visit him.

I think you're wise in letting Romeo acclimate before you go to visit. It would probably be too confusing for him otherwise.
I know with me, Bailey, and all the animals I've lived with, (when I've shared a house with others), have been family. It would rip me apart if I had to give up Bailey. I can only imagine what you're going through.
So sweet that Golden putting his head on your lap. He knows you're sad.

I hope not. I've been doing fairly well the past few days with the Fibro. I was pretty busy today, but other than taking my aunt to the store for a while tomorrow, I plan to rest and take it easy.
I put dinner and a movie with hubby off till Friday. I just wasn't in the right frame of mind today.

I was going to call you what would have been your last night, my this morning. I kept getting the message that the number I was calling was out of service. I couldn't understand it. I'd turned the computer off as it was fairly hot. I was awake at 2:45am because I'd gone to bed early last night, so the computer had been on for a fair while. I just looked up your number, and I was 1 digit out on your area code. If I'd got that right, you would have had your call. I have corrected it now so that I don't have the same problem from now on.
How did you sleep last night?

Betty, We haven't definitely decided on a movie yet but DH has been itching to see Alice In Wonderland, so that's on the short list.
Taffy, I LOOOOVVVE that idea! That sounds so cool! BTW, I'm taking DS to the tattoo shop tomorrow for his birthday. He's going to get a Star of David with a crown of thorns around the top. Way cool!
