Flying around bats are kind of cool but when you see them up close they look like flying devils. I remember when we went to the mammoth caves they were just hanging there sleeping when you went in the entrance. I know they live throughout the entire cave but they were close enough to touch at that point.

I agree, from a distance, like when they are flying they are neat. They look like really agile birds then. Up close, they are creepy! Close enough to touch is too close! I think snakes are evil too. I can't understand why people would keep them as pets. One of my boys wanted one as a pet and I told him not while he lives with me because if that thing ever got lose we would have a problem!

Eureka! I found the form. :) I think I'll send it certified so I can have more concrete proof that it was received...not taking any chances. Lol. No bats? I like bats, but since I don't like rabies, I stay quite a distance away. :)

Cause 14 is way too early. Glad you found that form too Tami. We are in the middle of a move here too Melissa. I think we will be all moved by next weekend. That's the plan anyway.

I love bats too! My aunt and uncle spent the weekend at a friends' cabin with them. A bat got in and my uncle and their friend were each standing in doorways on opposite sides of the living room, brooms in hand, swinging and ducking at the same time. One finally hit it. It was thrown into the bathroom, into the toilet. If he hadn't stopped to look at it first, the friend would have flushed it. But thanks to the delay, it shot back out again and they had to start over. Finally got it out. The next night they were home and thankful for no bats. Then they heard a family zinging sound. They had TWO bats in their house. Living in the chimney. Rabies control wouldn't come out unless there were a certain number so my uncle shot one with a BB gun (it always followed the same flight path going in) and then the other one left. A few years ago they had a HUGE owl living in their chimney. My uncle managed to glove up with some really heavy duty gloves and got him out. He was old, I think, so didn't put up as much of a struggle as a younger one would have. He let him go. quote:

Ofra Haza was an Israeli singer whose family was originally from Yemen. Her mother was about 13 or 14 when the family walked from Yeman to Isael...and she was already a mother! Well, my student canceled today so I have some time to surf around and cuop before cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen. Then I need to call the vet about Elektra. I changed her food a couple of weeks ago and, other than gas, she seems to be fine with the change. Then this weekend I noticed a bit of blood when she went outside, but I can't tell if it's IN her stool or ON it, maybe from some irritation. Then this morning it was diarrhea. I don't know if it's just a delayed reaction to the change or if there's something wrong. So after I clean I'll call and see what he wants me to do. I'll wait to take her upstairs until I talk to him in case he wants me to try to get a sample. After that it's speech therapy for E. I can't find his list of words so I hope he has it in his book bag. Otherwise we'll be really hurrying to get there if we have to stop at the house and traffic down there is horrible. Have a good one!

Jen, are you having any cravings? I know when my sister in law was pregnant with their daughter, my brother got all the cravings for her, and put on SO much weight. He felt some of the labour pains too. Harvie, I posted your card today, so hopefully it should be there in time for your birthday.

For me, it is a problem that needs to be solved.

He felt some of the labour pains too. Yeah, I am. Mostly food I'm not supposed to eat (eg chocolate--mild allergy I don't want to pass to the baby, and caffeine sensitivity), so I suspect it's more an emotional response than a "my body must have this" craving. During the first trimester, I craved white starchy foods the moment I discovered it kept my nausea at bay! It would never occur to DH to label his chocoholism "sympathy cravings" but I'm sure not going to suggest the possibility to him! At least he doesn't eat it in front of me every day. Once a week is about all I can stand to see him eat it, knowing I can't have any. With my first pregnancy, the only craving I had was fresh cherries. Mostly this time I want fresh fruit in general, but is it really a craving if a) it's really good for you and b) you eat it a lot anyhow? Who knows.

I like bats. Dh bought me a bat house several years ago. I was in a choir once that went to the Philippines. The churches are fairly open and when we started singing a large group of bats flew out of the baptismal behind us, over our heads, and out the shuttered walls. It was so cool.

We've only ever seen them flying around during service for evening services (not a weekly thing at my church). It would take a very unusual situation to flush the bats out during the day IMO. I nearly stepped on one at music practice once; there was a big lump on the carpet; turned out to be a bat hiding under the carpet! That's the closest I've ever been to one; usually they're a good 30 ft overhead.

It's been gorgeous around here for the past two weeks; sunny and bright; just under freezing temps in the morning and even over freezing at night. My mother is just back from Cuba, where she wound up wearing her long underwear all week, so I'm tempted to rub it in.
