Flying around bats are kind of cool but when you see them up close they look like flying devils.

I remember when we went to the mammoth caves they were just hanging there sleeping when you went in the entrance. I know they live throughout the entire cave but they were close enough to touch at that point.

I agree, from a distance, like when they are flying they are neat. They look like really agile birds then. Up close, they are creepy! Close enough to touch is too close!

I think snakes are evil too. I can't understand why people would keep them as pets. One of my boys wanted one as a pet and I told him not while he lives with me because if that thing ever got lose we would have a problem!

The other kids have mentioned to me before that I love babies the best. It's kind of true because newborns stay where you put them. They are content with being held and fed and changed. It's not till they start walking that the real work starts.

I love babies, too. Those people for Etrade are pretty smart to use babies.

I wanted more babies but we started too late, I was almost 40 when Linz was born. And with Larry already having a Down syndrome son I just couldn't take a chance.

Edited because I got my age all wrong!

I don't like bats or snakes!

Molly, congrats on the bike riding and your healthy goals!

I'm doing well, just packing and moving boxes around. We're going to be moving within the next couple of months and finding a suitable apartment or house to rent on the Internet is difficult. Think that I'll start driving around and look for signs.

Eureka! I found the form. :) I think I'll send it certified so I can have more concrete proof that it was received...not taking any chances. Lol.

No bats? I like bats, but since I don't like rabies, I stay quite a distance away. :)

No kidding! I heard one one night, it was kind of cool but I sure don't want a close encounter.

I guess a few horses around had to get put down, they got rabies from a bat bite. The vet suggested we give our horses a rabies shot.

Glad you found the form, Tami!

You mean 41 right? Cause 14 is way too early.

Glad you found that form too Tami.

We are in the middle of a move here too Melissa. I think we will be all moved by next weekend. That's the plan anyway.

I love bats too! My aunt and uncle spent the weekend at a friends' cabin with them. A bat got in and my uncle and their friend were each standing in doorways on opposite sides of the living room, brooms in hand, swinging and ducking at the same time. One finally hit it. It was thrown into the bathroom, into the toilet. If he hadn't stopped to look at it first, the friend would have flushed it. But thanks to the delay, it shot back out again and they had to start over. Finally got it out.

The next night they were home and thankful for no bats. Then they heard a family zinging sound. They had TWO bats in their house. Living in the chimney. Rabies control wouldn't come out unless there were a certain number so my uncle shot one with a BB gun (it always followed the same flight path going in) and then the other one left.

A few years ago they had a HUGE owl living in their chimney. My uncle managed to glove up with some really heavy duty gloves and got him out. He was old, I think, so didn't put up as much of a struggle as a younger one would have. He let him go.

Please tell me you meant to type 41!

Ofra Haza was an Israeli singer whose family was originally from Yemen. Her mother was about 13 or 14 when the family walked from Yeman to Isael...and she was already a mother!

Well, my student canceled today so I have some time to surf around and cuop before cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen. Then I need to call the vet about Elektra. I changed her food a couple of weeks ago and, other than gas, she seems to be fine with the change. Then this weekend I noticed a bit of blood when she went outside, but I can't tell if it's IN her stool or ON it, maybe from some irritation. Then this morning it was diarrhea. I don't know if it's just a delayed reaction to the change or if there's something wrong. So after I clean I'll call and see what he wants me to do. I'll wait to take her upstairs until I talk to him in case he wants me to try to get a sample.

After that it's speech therapy for E. I can't find his list of words so I hope he has it in his book bag. Otherwise we'll be really hurrying to get there if we have to stop at the house and traffic down there is horrible.

Have a good one!

LOL yeah, I guess I was having a dyslexic moment. I can't blame menopause anymore since I'm done.

and it's not even 41, it's 39. I was on the wrong side of 40.

Bats and snakes = way cool. We have bats in our belfry (literally) at church! Cousins of mine had to get rabies shots a few years ago when their son woke up with one in his room... because you can't prove it didn't bite you, they make you take shots.

So as long as they stay out of my bedroom when I'm asleep, they're awesome. Yeah, call me weird. Not much in the animal kingdom freaks me out.

Jen, are you having any cravings? I know when my sister in law was pregnant with their daughter, my brother got all the cravings for her, and put on SO much weight. He felt some of the labour pains too.

Harvie, I posted your card today, so hopefully it should be there in time for your birthday.

HI everyone!!!

Our internet was out for a few days, so to catch up-
I am not pregnant right now and we have five kiddos....and hubby isn't "fixed" because there's nothing broken . If we one day decide to have something done in that area, he still won't be "fixed", because again, nothing is broken. (That term BUGS ME to no end!!!)

There are things I like about every age, but I have to really REALLY try to find the good in 3yo's. I absolutely can not stand whining, and every 3yo I know goes through a whining stage. I do NOT like pregnancy though. I would not mind ever having to go through that again...it's way too hard on my body. However, I am willing to if that's Gods will for our family.

I always thought that the Prince Caspian movie was much better then the book...different, but better. I never liked the book. TLTWTW book is much better, but there was so much the movie had to leave out because it was just too long.

Why doesn't that happen to my husband?

The term "fixed" doesn't bother me. I never thought of it as something broken needing to be fixed. For me, it is a problem that needs to be solved.

I love hummingbirds, but don't see them very often. I am going to try to entice some to come to my yard this year, again.

I like the idea of bats flying around eating all the mosquitoes, but I wouldn't want to bump into them.

We lived in an old house with mice, and one day when I went down to the basement I seen a little mouse and he stopped and just stared at me for a while, he was so very cute.

Yeah, I am. Mostly food I'm not supposed to eat (eg chocolate--mild allergy I don't want to pass to the baby, and caffeine sensitivity), so I suspect it's more an emotional response than a "my body must have this" craving. During the first trimester, I craved white starchy foods the moment I discovered it kept my nausea at bay! It would never occur to DH to label his chocoholism "sympathy cravings" but I'm sure not going to suggest the possibility to him! At least he doesn't eat it in front of me every day. Once a week is about all I can stand to see him eat it, knowing I can't have any.

With my first pregnancy, the only craving I had was fresh cherries. Mostly this time I want fresh fruit in general, but is it really a craving if a) it's really good for you and b) you eat it a lot anyhow? Who knows.

I like bats. Dh bought me a bat house several years ago.

I was in a choir once that went to the Philippines. The churches are fairly open and when we started singing a large group of bats flew out of the baptismal behind us, over our heads, and out the shuttered walls. It was so cool.

My moms church has a problem with bats. They get into the rafters and then randomly start flying around the building....DURING church!!! In the two months I was there visiting, I think there were 5 found/killed/let go

We've only ever seen them flying around during service for evening services (not a weekly thing at my church). It would take a very unusual situation to flush the bats out during the day IMO. I nearly stepped on one at music practice once; there was a big lump on the carpet; turned out to be a bat hiding under the carpet! That's the closest I've ever been to one; usually they're a good 30 ft overhead.

Bats, birds and other things right over my head makes me want to duck, especially when they're about to let lose some stuff that I don't want in my hair. It's bad enough cleaning it off of my car!

It's been gorgeous around here for the past two weeks; sunny and bright; just under freezing temps in the morning and even over freezing at night.

My mother is just back from Cuba, where she wound up wearing her long underwear all week, so I'm tempted to rub it in.
