Driver. I'm too much of a control freak to be a passenger.

I prefer to be the passenger so I can fall asleep, daydream, look out the window, read a book, and put my feet on the dashboard.

I voted "neither" but "either" is closer to the truth. I tend to be the passenger more with DH, mostly because our car was "his" car first when we were married. We're trying to remember to get me to drive more, but it's become a habit now. However, if I'm driving I'd prefer to be alone so I can speed with impunity. Exception: if my mother is in the car I'd rather be driving. She's put the car in the ditch several times; sorry Mom, but I'm just the better driver of the two of us. quote:
Jack is convinced though that he will need glasses...he told me the other day when we were at the glasses store that he is a big boy now so he needs glasses...lol. Such is life when your 3 older siblings wear glasses!!! LOL It's great that your youngest looks at it as a positive thing though! The transition will be easier if he does need them. DH detests his glasses and will only wear them under duress (eg his last contact lens rips). He's worn them since he was a kid and hated being teased about them. Odd thing is, I think he looks great in his glasses--possibly even better than without, because they're just right for his face. My glasses are falling apart and I dread going to pick out new ones. It's the only "fashion" purchase I make that DH has veto rights on.

Passenger. I can't drive.

Driver. I do 99.9% of the driving when DH and I are together (he will occasionally take a shift on long trips). He hates to drive (says he's allergic to it ) and is a rather nervous driver which makes me nervous. So its easier for both of us if I just drive, since I don't mind it. I also drive a lot for work- 2 or more hours/day broken up into smaller chunks so I'm used to the driving. I'm a bit too much of a control freak to have other people driving, although if we're taking someone else's car I usually don't have a problem with them driving.

Driver. I am not a crazy driver , more of a middle of the road safe driver and that's fine with me. There's a few people that drive like maniacs and I don't like that. However I don't want the back seat drivers but fortunately that have only been my parents and grandma. LOL. Learning to drive with them was nuts.

My vote should be "either", I don't really care one way or the other.

On a long drive I prefer to be the driver. If I'm really tired or the drive is short, I don't care much.

My husband cannot drive well on the freeway.. So on the freeway I prefer me to drive, but on the streets, he does better, as he has the green light angel with him, and I have the red light devil. HEHE! We have a lot of issues about driving because he works at a car dealership, he thinks he knows better about driving stick. Ugh! I say over and over, just because it is different, does not make it wrong. Then he says, you will save miles on your clutch if you do it this way, well really... Can you really prove that? I I am comfortable driving this way, who cares.. My husband also used to hate driving long distances, but I have finally got him to see that LA or 5 1/2 hours is not that much driving. But he has decided he likes to drive part way. UGH! I just bring my dvd player and don't watch the road. I think I get it from my Mom. We used to joke with here that she had a brake on the passenger side, as she was always stomping her foot down on that side when she was a passenger.

I answered 'neither' (because I don't have a preference), but the proper term should really be 'either.' Dh prefers to drive. I don't mind allowing him. I like to daydream. The only time I prefer to drive is in the city (he hesitates on merges) or driving overnight.

Passenger. I don't mind driving if it's a place I'm familiar with, but I have a terrible sense of direction (I honestly cannot count the number of times I've followed hubby into a place and then turned the wrong direction when leaving without him) and I HATE to drive on the interstate. Most of the time if we're going somewhere together, hubby drives.

I have an amazing sense of direction. It drives me nuts when I ask DH if he knows how to get where we're going. If it's an unfamiliar place he will usually say yes even if he only knows how to get most of the way there. I definitely make a better navigator than most people I know; maybe that should tip the balance in favour of my being a passenger.

Oh yeah I have a terrible sense of direction. I asked for a car GPS for Christmas and did not get one.. so next time I get lost I will remind them! I have a GPS on my cell phone and it works ONLY if google maps is up to date..and there isn't any construction which closes the road.. etc..... and if you are looking for a specific address and drive right by it.. it isn't as helpful as you'd think it is.

I used to have a terrible sense of direction but 3 years of driving all over the west side of Phoenix have improved matters considerably, at least when I'm in that area. Put me in an unfamiliar location and I'm only a little bit better than I used to be. I got a GPS for Christmas after swearing repeatedly that I didn't need one (I used to print out mapquest maps and bring them with me for appointments). I'm surprised at how quickly it become indispensable.

It really depends who am with.. With a date..like him to drive With my dad..like him to drive b/c he likes to correct my driving and it makes me nervous. With my mom, either way Friend A1...her driving, b/c she LOVES to drive, and I'm ambivalent about it..so may as well let her drive... Friend A2...well, she MADE do the driving last visit who knows.. Sisters...them, mainly b/c they have kids, and I'd rather have THEM be the responsible party when THEIR KIDS are in the car By myself..ME of course my old friends (co-workers) from the preschool--either way...except the one who can't drive..in that case, I'd rather be the one driving. church peeps...if they have kids, refer to the comment regarding my sisters. others it probably depends on whose car we're in
